Shisui was abandoned at the Church of Chauntea when he was seven years old, just a few months after Eikin was left on their steps. His village had been pillaged, and his parents hoped leaving him in the hands of a church would keep him safe.
It didn't take long for Shisui and Eikin to become close. They did everything together, from sharing their quarters, to bathing and training. By the time Shisui was thirteen, he knew he was in love with Eikin. But, the other boy never understood his advances. The gentle pets to his catlike ears and the ghosting of their hands were never enough for Eikin to realize the feelings they had for each other were much more than friendly. But, Shisui never minded. He was happy spending his time with Eikin, even if he wished for something more.
A war raged in southern Gartnik. Soldiers and paladins were deployed across the farmlands to fight for a good cause. Eikin and Shisui were sure it was finally the end; that the bloodshed and torment was finally over. But right before Eikin's eyes, the most important person in his life was killed. As Eikin craddled his body, Shisui pet his ears one last time and pressed a kiss to his forehead. "No matter what," he told the other boy, holding a hand against Eikin's rapidly beating heart. "I will be right here. So continue fighting for me. When you cross the river, I'll be waiting for you." He was buried in the cemetery of the Church of Chauntea, and Eikin took one of his ruby earrings as a sort of promise to his dear friend.
- Shisui was born in the city of Ogane, Kitakami. His parents were shinobi, and after his father was killed, Shisui amd his mother fled to the seemingly peaceful country of Gartnik. They were persued, and Shisui was forced to leave his dying mother.
- He was in the middle of training to be a shinobi, so Shisui was quite skilled in comparison to the other soldiers in the church.

Shisui was in love with Eikin, and he always knew he was. To save himself from heartbreak, he kept his feelings under wraps. He preferred to stay with Eikin forever as a friend, rather than face the possible reality of Eikin rejecting him. In the end, Shisui had no regrets, and loved Eikin all the same.
