Ares Strongheart is the youngest child of Twilight Sparkle and Tempest Shadow, he is also the only one in his family to be born without a horn. No one knows how this could've been possible since both mares are Unicorns and most of their family are unicorns as well, though regardless of the fact they both still love their little baby. However, Ares hates the fact that he's the only earth pony in the line of powerful magic users and so has developed some sort of self cautiousness and bitterness towards his mother, Twilight. He's known as the 'rebel prince' because of his constant defiance towards his mothers.
