Acer was used by Cinder to spy on the City's security so they could have a chance to create a way to sneak into the city unnoticed.
He can remotely access security cameras around the city and gather information.
Got hired by Lucent after he figured out Acer could be useful in gathering live information about how the people in the city were behaving.
He got to stay at Lucen't place where he befriended Clove.
As Clove and Acer got to know each other better, they have been requesting Blane to tinker on Acer, to upgrade him a bit. More channels, better radio... Blane was also requested to fix Acer whenever something on his TV broke.
