Maria Mathias

After putting herself into the hospital for her own safety (she had an episode at work) she meets a former surgeon whom she shares a room with named Doc. She becomes protective of Doc and does her best to take care of him when he needs help. They care about each other a lot by the end of their stay and Maria offers her home to Doc who has nowhere to go after his stay.
