They abandoned their home island a few months prior to canon, after growing detestful of their family there due to the stifling nature of having such a limited conversational pool. They are deserted on their vessel for months until crash landing on a “brand new” island, one where a death gameshow is being hosted. Little did they know, they ended up right where they started.
