He never stays in one place for too long to escape the grasp of the Blood Hunters - a vampire cult he managed to free himself from - all while hunting down humans.
But only those humans who deserve to be punished: a greedy nobleman who won't pay the poor peasants working his land;
a drunken father who lays his hands on his wife and son way too often; a clergyman who stares at young boys on Sunday morning for too long.
These days he roams the lands of Eastern Europe in hopes of giving meaning to his newfound life.
