Backstory

Born and raised in the Outer City of Aldbridge, Rixa initially followed in her family's footsteps - a life of theft, scams, and crime. At first, she didn't believe her actions were too egregious; after all, it was only the gullible who fell for her fake fortune-tellings. But as her family's illicit activities began to catch up with them day by day, Rixa became less inclined to continue down this path.

When an opportunity arose to help establish a settlement in the Dragon Isles, Rixa thought she could find a new home for her family, one with fewer criminal undertones. She possessed more than just showmanship with her cards and magic; she knew spells that could be invaluable on such an expedition.

So, Rixa, the cartomancer, along with a handful of others who would become her friends, set out on this journey. It took several months of tackling one problem after another, with danger always looming over the group. Not everyone made it through, but they ultimately achieved their goal. As things settled down, so did Rixa. While she picked up a few new tricks along the way, the excitement had been enough to last a lifetime.

Present Day

Rixa eventually found the home she had always dreamed of, and even her family adapted to a new way of life, albeit not entirely free of crime, but improving gradually. This was sufficient for the young witch, who could now peer behind the veil of destiny using her cards and reassure herself that they would be okay. She finally had the sense of peace and contentment she had longed for.
