Bio (roughly): Stas was raised in military school and joins the military because that is what was expected of him. His sibling broke the mold and pursued a different career based on their passion. Stas offered financial and emotional support at this time in anticipation of their being kicked out or disowned by their parents. Around this time [a magic accident in the field] happens and nearly kills Stas. He loses an eye and his remaining eye changes and he grows a horn (ouch) and a tail (annoying) and his hair is growing out white and he is so so cold all the time. By the time Stas is able to contact his family, much to his surprise, his sibling is wildly successful and the subject of adoration from their parents. Never having explored personal interests, or even having known that pursuing interests was an option, Stas went from meek and bland to bitter and short tempered. He is still directionless (literally, as he has no guidance about his new condition) but he's still determined to take control of his life and make something of it on his own terms. It would be going a lot better if he was willing to go to therapy.

Condition: Essentially, Stas is like a very fast working air conditioner unit. Heat from the air is sucked very quickly into his body, creating condensation around the rapid temperature difference and freezing it. This same pocket of air can be manipulated to fling the frozen water. Heat from objects can also be absorbed through direct contact. Stas' body is in a constant state of slowly cooling in order to accommodate this, leaving him feeling cold almost all of the time (with the exception being when Stas has absorbed enough heat from utilizing his abilities). His body is cold to the touch as well, and he complains about the perpetual sensation of brain freeze often. There is some natural passive pulling of heat from things he touches and the air around him, so food and drink is usually cold by the time it hits his lips. He misses hot cocoa very very much. In cold environments, where there is less heat to extract, Stas' abilities are greater in scope and capacity. In hot environments with much more heat to remove to get to a freezing point, Stas' abilities become smaller in scope and capacity. After a certain point of inactivity where his body has cooled beyond its coldest functioning temperature, his abilities will trigger on their own until he's absorbed enough heat to be brought back to stability. This usually manifests in small spontaneous fits of freezing things that quickly give way into bigger displays that can affect an entire mess hall (in warm conditions) or all the way through three barracks over (in freezing conditions). Due to his usually cold body, his body functions are also slowed and he does not need to eat or sleep as often as he used to, though this is subject to how much and how frequently he is utilizing his abilities.
