Shanjian

Shanjian is a long-lost, distant but direct descendant of Wani King Owatatsumi, the God of the Sea, Ryujin. He was inadvertently kidnapped while thieves stole the King's Tide Jewels, Kanju & Manju. He was raised on a mountain as the spirit of a mountain stream, causing his dragon form to grow quite differently from most Wani. His kidnappers never meant to steal and keep him, too, and to somewhat alleviate their guilt of doing so, he was gifted a pair of shards taken from the Tide Jewels that give him a small amount of their power to influence the tides. While never outright told who he was, it was alluded to many times in his upbringing. But in an attempt to never out his unwitting, adoptive family since they've otherwise been nothing but kind to him, he's never opted to return to the ocean despite how badly it calls to him and how much he does wish to be reunited with his true blood relatives at sea.
