Austin is a cat who travels through space and time with technology places far into the future from now. He cannot talk; he is muted, as he is really only part-feline and part-galaxy. There is no known reason why he can't communicate, but it's most likely because he's never come across many living things in his time period, despite being thousands of years old, so he's never had any time to develop those skills. Even though he is so old, he knows he hasn't even covered a tiny fraction of outer space. His main goal is to someday get there, as his time will end when space does. Unlike pretty much every other known species, he can do most things we can't, such as touch a star, fly smoothly around, and travel faster than any spacecraft we ever made. The one thing that he must avoid, though, is black holes. If even light can't get out, then he probably can't, either. Austin doesn't know how he appeared, as it most certainly can't have been through reproduction (since he's likely his first), and still has yet to come across his first living species. (Without having anyone to communicate with, he can't really develop a personality, but he is very determined.) If ever to come across Earth one day, he would probably be very frightened of humans.

Austin was actually based off of a dream I had on his creation day (02/16/18), where I could go through a random portal when I wished and talk to a friend I can never see. I wanted to feature his ability to travel through portals when writing this, from his point in the universe to somewhere millions of miles away. I've always wondered how portals exactly work in the fictional worlds that they're used in, so I had the neat idea of making them Austin's main focus. c:
