Conrad & Unicorn

Conrad is serious, cynical, cerebral, and often irritated, much preferring quiet solitude and contemplation to the capering jocularity of his brother's antics. Unfortunately - in his opinion, anyway - quiet isn't something he gets much of. Not with Unicorn around! Unicorn actually annoys Conrad deeply, and his greatest wish is not to be stuck with his brother 100% of the time. He thinks their relationship would be better if they could just catch a break once in a while! As it stands though, Conrad frequently has to restrain himself so he doesn't end up yelling at at his brother, turning his anger inward and bottling it up until he can get a moment to work through it during his nightly meditation session, which happens after Unicorn has gone to sleep. Conrad is a bit of a night-owl, you see. Mostly because of revenge bedtime procrastination. He loves the quiet solitude of the evening hours, and feels like he can get a lot done by burning the midnight oil. Of course... it means he's that much grumpier come the next morning. TLDR: Conrad is a coffee-fueled curmudgeon that badly needs to switch to decaf and start going to bed on time.

Unicorn, in contrast, is an absolute goofball who always does his best to look on the sunny side of life. He gets up early in the morning and loves sweet things, often doubling down on anything sugary whenever he has the chance - his brother often teases him about this, asking, for example, if he'd like a biscuit with his jam for once. Unicorn doesn't blame his brother for being annoyed - he understands that not everyone likes the same things - and does his best to respect Conrad's 'quiet times'. But sometimes his energy just gets the better of him and he ends up bursting into song or tapping out little tunes with his hooves while 'Rad is trying to focus. Sitting still is hard for Unicorn! He like to be moving, going, DOING! As a result he frequently chews on a piece of gum to give him something to fidget with when he DOES have to be patient, though he likes to snap it and blow massive bubbles, so it's not as quiet as it could be. He loves nothing more than running full-tilt across a large field (with Conrad having temporarily surrendered control of his two legs) and collapsing into the grass at the far side, breathing hard. He'll lay on his back and look up at the clouds, picking out shapes and listening to the wind as it blows through the grass. At least until he gets his breath back. Once he does, he'll get up and start running again. And again. And again... until Conrad says 'enough' and they have to go home. Unicorn is a 'mon of simple pleasures!
