Reugen doesn’t know she’s an android, she thinks she’s a totally normal human. It’s not until Chapter 5 (or a dangerous mission, it doesn’t have to be with the canon story, as you can see i'm still fleshing this out), when her left arm is blown up, that she notices.

At first she’s just shocked about being a mim. Then she's totally fine with it, because of course she’s one, she’s human.

And then it happens. Before no one can even shut her off or stop the bleeding, an arm emerges, wrecking pain through her entire body. Teal blue, alien looking, skin hard like a shell. Her eyes also changed to a more clear blue, almost white and slit pupils. After passing out, she learns that, unfortunately, she’s indeed not human (This kinda wrecks her a little but we can talk about that later).

Reugen is, basically, a ticking time bomb. The part that didn’t assimilate the android body is slowly evolving to transform into a fully grown telethia. This part is its own separate character (placeholder name being Rakotis or Rak), one that right now is dormant inside Reugen. Rak is at the moment in a very primal state of mind, as their only priority (while being asleep) is protecting the body at all costs, and slowly taking over it.

Reugen, also known as Project Alexandria or R-3U63N, is a zenobian residing inside an android, originally discovered by Pharos’ hidden (not-shady-at-all team), RE-C0RD. Her age is unknown, but she acts and looks 27ish or more years old.

Her body prototype was finished in 2046 (not that her consciousness was awake there), but she is way, WAY, older than that. She doesn’t have any memories, since zenobian relics are not awake, but in a state of hibernation of sorts, so she was never someone in the first place. No name, no body, nothing, just random information (that I still have to flesh out, because I’m thinking that each relic contains limited information, like books). With that in mind, it’s normal that, the first time she awakes in her new body, she thinks she’s human - she doesn’t know any better.

Personality wise, she’s very silent, unless she knows what she wants to say (not meaning she thinks about it) or is addressed directly. Reugen is very impulsive too, and speaks without thinking too much, so she may blurt the rudest thing ever, or the worst thing with the worst timing, making her way too honest. No filter.

She doesn’t handle the pressure really well. Having this considered, she’s an awful leader. She makes rash decisions, let’s personal ideas cloud her judgement, and really she couldn’t deal with having to make the awfully cruel decisions a leader should make (glaces at Elma and Shepard from Mass Effect). This shows a lot in her, as she’s too selfish to decide for the better of the masses. If she had to choose from saving the person she loved the most, and a bunch of people, she would choose the former without batting an eye.

Even with this in mind, Reugen is really kind to others, meaning that she would probably help anybody who asks, which makes it easy to trick her in the beginning. She gets better at it, and at the same time she becomes more reluctant to help anyone as she starts suspecting they just want to take advantage of her.

Curiosity killed the cat, and probably would’ve killed Reugen at some point, cause she is very curious. She’s not dumb, and can probably survive out of instinct in the wilds, but yeah she makes a lot of questions for things she doesn’t understand. Her survival instincts are very rooted in her, being a zenobian/telethia and all, and has helped her multiple times.

Her curiosity comes from not having knowledge of lots of things, things she should know as a human and makes it a bit weird at the beginning, but people assume she’s just that naive. With this in mind, people expect her to be straight up dumb, but she’s the complete opposite.

Physically, she’s very tall, being 184.64cm, and even if she looks more agile than strong, she’s exactly the opposite. Her weapons of choice are dual greatswords . Not longswords. Greatsword.

Lore

As i've mentioned before, Reugen is a zenobian. She specifically was a zenobian relic, an alien core-like brain whose consciousness is sleeping permanently. It's organic, it has instincts and can do things, but from the beginning Reugen was no one. No sense of self, nothing, as her consciousness was asleep from the moment she began to exist.

(note: if you divide a relic in two, you would have two different zenobians- it wouldn't break, it would just divide itself and create two new beings, like the orpheans).

Knowing this, Pharos discovered the zenobian relic, and started working on Project Alexandria, a project where they would give the relic an android body so they could control her perfectly and extract what they thought to be limitless data. For this purpose (as they had no equipment nor personnel to build such advanced technology) they contacted another company who worked with androids, and hit a deal with them, sharing that it was a non-sentient relic that contained a shit ton of unknown information.

Together, they created a team named RE-C0RD, tasked with the creation of an android they could control to store the relic. Their progress was slow and difficult, the relic was not reacting well to the prototypes and they couldn't hide a project so big for much time- so they decided to create a false identity for the android who stored the relic, to continue the project on a much slower pace, making it less suspicious. Looking just like a human, or mim, they programmed her to act and talk just like them, and implanted false memories into her data. They called her Reugen, as a nod to her prototype name, R-3UG3N, and after RE-C0RD disbandment, she was a researcher who acted as ambassador that "helped" communications between Pharos and the other company, and maybe helped out with some projects. The relic was still dormant, struggling to adapt to her body, but that was ok. They had time, and the android was manageable, as it didn't have a mind of its own. It was well-disciplined, programmed to act like a perfect human, and obey who she had to obey. Her scrip program tailored perfectly for those objectives. The other company had her checked up often, programming fail safes after fail safes in her nexus module in case the relic flared up suddenly. It was all under control. Everything was fine.

They even made her related to a small scientist of Pharos, Samuel Majano Ortega, a spanish man who was transferred recently. Samuel didn't like it, but, little by little, he learnt to appreaciate her false daughter and started treating her like a real one, giving her his wife's surname, making her Reugen Majano Noyola.

On her way to Mira, one half of the relic finally assimilated the android, and after crashing she woke up. The android was damaged, offline, parasited to the point of breaking by the relic, which expanded a net of nerves while on the Whale. Part of her core absorbed the nexus module, mixing her data with whatever information she had stored from before. Her android counterpart was no more (or was it), as her core took full control of the entire body.

Reugen had nothing she could remember but a hazy memory about her own name and some voices. She even had a feeling she had family, a father maybe. Maybe he was on the Whale. Obviously, nothing of this was true, as she just had the fake memories of her android counterpart. But she didn't know any better.

• She has a hard time opening up, not because she doesn’t want to, but because she doesn’t know how to put her feelings into words .
• She sometimes has dreams, where she speaks with Rak, which she forgets about when waking up.
• She loves baking, and her specialty are blueberry cupcakes.
• She discovered that hugs are therapeutic and tries to hug everyone when she's feeling sad.
• Her ignorance over feelings and some other stuff makes her look childish sometimes.
• Whoever she has closer will suffer the classic child-shotgun of questions to satiate her curiosity- that includes any kind of question.
• Her memory is almost, almost, perfect, and will probably remember everything she’s seen to some extent (note: it would be perfect if she wasn’t half a piece of a relic, which was part of an even bigger relic). She loves reading for the same reason, she feels like she's filling her mind with information, to cope with the fact that she has no memories of herself.
• Usually she has a permanent poker face on, unless she’s feeling really happy then she has the goofiest smile.
• She loves trying new outfits on, and she usually goes for the classy but beautiful kind of approach.
• She’s physically very strong, but doesn’t look like it (her telethia arm is even stronger).
• Her telethia arm can morph, sometimes to a shield, sometimes to spikes, sometimes to something akin to a blade, but she doesn’t really control it well, so it comes and goes with her emotions.
• She's very particular with colors and her favorite is hunter green.
• Saltats are her favorite thing in the world, and she loves to go out of her way and watch them blow bubbles and do their funny little noises.
• Zenobians work like flowers, they just need sunlight and water to survive- so if she spends a lot of time underground or without natural light, all her blue parts start getting grayer.
• Big masses of water scare the shit out of her (because y’know, it’s really easy to drown a flower).
