About

Beginnings

Born and raised in Octo Valley. Enlisted into the Octarian army a year before the events of Splatoon 1. He was a lower ranking soldier, specializing in heavier weaponry and maintenance. Though he was a member of the army, he was not present at Octavio's first defeat by Agent 3. He laid low alongside the others until Octavio's eventual return nearing Splatoon 2's events. Climbing the ranks, he was able to attent DJ Octavio and Callie's concert. With the Squid Sisters reuniting then, he was exposed to the Calamari Inkantation. The song spoke to him, and encouraged him to defect from Octo Canyon.

Life in Inkopolis

Leaving Octo Canyon, he was accompanied by one of his closest friends, Jesper. They were rather close, and almost never left each other's side in the unfamiliar place. They settled together near Inkololis Square, where they grew accustomed to their new way of life. However, things went for a wrong turn when Jesper didn't return home one night. After searching dark depths, Raiden emerged from said place injured, and alone.

New Horizons

Upon said incident, Raiden found it hard to stay in Inkopolis. He lost most motivation in turf battles and in work. Upon hearing of Hammerhead Bridge's completion, he was curious, and decided to make the choice to move to a distant land across the sea. He arrived into Splatsville, which he now calls his home. Still in his funk, he didn't often participate in turf battles, not exactly fond of violence, even recreationally. Splatsville's deep and rich culture was a refresher he needed. Raiden found himself rather enjoying this new place, much moreso than Inkopolis. He now makes his living working at Grizzco and occasionally participates in turf war.

Personality

< Raiden himself has trouble maintaining relationships with his friends, he oftentimes shuts them out completely whenever they get too close or he gets too comfortable. In his mind , he really thinks he'll just screw up once more so he nips the bud early before getting attached. Has a bad habit of drinking heavily when not doing too well (physically or mentally). He's short tempered as well, oftentimes snapping at his so called 'friends'. Blunt, and wont put up with bums or slackers (despite acting like one himself on occasions). Doesn't see a future for himself, nor an inkling of an idea of what he wants to do with the rest of his life.
