PERSONALITY

Diocletian is much more systematic than the other people in his gang. He thinks ahead much more. If he was on his own, it wouldn't be hard for him to eliminate entire gangs, and destroy every trace of them. He chooses not to do so, however. At the same time, he's much more distrusting of his compatriots. He sees them as irrational and unpredictable. He's not above seeking outsiders for help, since he doesn't believe he can rely on his own gang to get things done- which is the basis for his relationship with Marie Antoinette. However, like the others, he's very Machiavellian. Diocletian is the least vocal of them. He observes, often with disgust or resignation, instead.

Despite all this, and despite being based on one of the bloodiest emperors, he's still one of the nicer Romans, if only because he refuses to take part in their more violent endeavors. He has the potential for such cruelty, but the majority of the time he finds their pursuit pointless and over-the-top, and he only wishes to use violence when there's a real "gain" from it.. Like the real Diocletian, he's mainly pushed to do horrible things at the beckoning of his "court"- the other Romans. Diocletian is most appalled by the lack of order in the current Roman Empire. He has his own secret desires to institute a new system within their gang, and frequently opposes Caligula. These clashes lead to many power struggles.
