Profile

"I need my privacy, I lead a secret life,"

Mitra Cava was born in 1955, in a small town in England. Obsessed with the macabre and classic films, she grew up dreaming of a job in Hollywood. However, when she moved to the states, she quickly realized that the business was not as she had dreamed. During her early college years, she realized a more suitable path for her was in medicine. More specifically psychology and nursing. Mitra ended up getting a job as a full time therapist, making a fair amount of money from her career, at least enough to keep her rent payed, her groceries bought, and her hobbies supported. She seemed to have a promising future in her field.

"Feeling rotten to the core, and I don't need you anymore,"

However, she struggled with work in psychology. At first, the work was fine. But the stress of her own mental health and caring for another proved too much to bear. She eventually had a public breakdown and was fired with her job, unable to get another due to her perceived instability. She eventually was able to land a nursing job but in return, nearly gave up all of her empathy, becoming a hermit and an apathetic person. Quite a while after, she met Corna at a protest, managing to stumble in just at the right time. Her medical expertise was incredibly useful for Corna, as she had troubles making the people she organized feel safe. Having a nurse around improved morale, but it also helped to improve Mitra's life. She understood now that things could be better for her, and being with Corna made her happy.

At least for a while.

She had trouble staying happy, even if she did love Corna. After talking to Corna, she decided that she needed to change jobs, which is where she found a new place with being a field nurse with the Psychonauts, due to her wife's extreme string pulling talent. She hated her job. While Corna had made it sound like she would live an exciting, thrilling, new life, which, Mitra wouldn't have wanted anyways, her job was more of a glorified school nurse. She spends most of her time giving out band-aids and aloe. Or on a smoke break.
