Berry Auriga

Berry is a squid boy who got involved with the New Squidbeak Splatoon when a search for an unoccupied place to practice led him into a suspicious manhole. Under the moniker of "Agent 3" and the guidance of Captain Cuttlefish and his famous grandsquids, Berry fought off DJ Octavio's soldiers and later Octavio himself, to restore Inkoplis's Great Zapfish. Berry found these heroic secret escapades to be incredibly exhilirating, and loved the idea of living a secret life as a hero.

Berry spent a bit of time fighting off Octarian remnants before an encounter with a wayward Octoling resulted in a fight that dragged both of them into the underground Kamabo Company. He encountered Agent 8, who turned out to be this same Octoling, and whose actual name is Raspa. Berry also assisted Agent 8 in escaping the underground facility, despite temporary falling victim to partial sanitization and nearly killing 8.

Berry was promoted to captain of the New Squidbeak due to his heroic feats and the struggles he overcame, and now observes Neo Agent 3, an Octoling named Taro. Between meeting Agent 8, Neo Agent 3, and working alongside Octavio at one point, Berry is trying to unlearn the sense of distrust around Octolings that formed as a result of his earlier missions.

Berry is somewhat of a loner and has difficulty socializing with other people. He quickly became enamored with being a part of the New Squidbeak because he didn't have to worry about anyone but himself on his missions. He knew that if he failed somewhere, it was entirely because of a mistake he made and not someone else's. Although Berry initially got involved with this group to improve himselfand impress others, he seems to have lost interest in PVP battles. The idea of having teammates that hold him back, and him possibly holding back his teammates from winning matches has made Berry a bit jaded towards Turf and Ranked Battles.

In between observing Neo Agent 3's efforts and chatting with Agents 1 and 2, he daydreams about a certain girl with orange hair. This person is important to Berry, as she was the person he was training himself to impress.
