Appearance: Gillian is a hulking, muscular man with fair skin, cropped ginger hair, and light gray eyes. He has a scar on his left cheek that goes through his lips down to his chin. A military man for practically half his life, Gillian typically wears his army uniform, combat boots, and a gun holster vest. Outside of his army uniform, his civilian outfits usually consists of long pants with several pockets and tight, sleeveless shirts or tank tops that show off his powerful arms. Even in casual wear, Gillian usually has a hidden gun behind his back or knives strapped to his boots. 

Personality: Gillian is not only intimidating outwardly but also inwardly. He’s a serious man who always sports a frown or neutral expression with the exception of sometimes smiling or smirking in reaction to Noritaka. Possessing a calm and analytical mind, Gillian assesses any situation before making decisions. His no-nonsense single mindedness in handling every task grounds Noritaka’s flightiness, and his cautious nature has saved the sniper’s life on more than one occasion. 

Underneath his stern demeanor, Gillian is not a cold person and unexpectedly domestic, caring deeply about his teammates and wanting to keep them alive. He often takes new soldiers under his wing and soothe those who suffer from homesickness and nightmares through talking and home remedies. His dream is to one day retire and live together with Noritaka.

Bio: Gillian was born in the country in a family of three. His father, Oskar Graves, enjoyed hunting for sport and often took him along on expeditions, especially after discovering his son’s affinity for shooting. On the other hand, his mother, Abigail Graves, disapproved of her husband’s hobby and wanted Gillian to stay at home where she would teach him cooking and music. 

Throughout the years, Oskar’s temper worsened until he became physically abusive, eventually resulting in the family’s explosive divorce and end. Abigail Graves returned home to her parents while Gillian, having finished high school, moved out to live on his own and attended community college. During this time, Gillian was directionless, neither able to hold a steady job nor decide his major. The only light in his life during this period was meeting his classmate, Noritaka Reeves. When the military recruiters came, he was relieved.  

In the military, he was noticed for his discipline and quickness with a gun, and swiftly put into special forces as a spotter. As if fated, Noritaka was recruited at the same time into the same team and became partnered as his sniper. 

After nearly two decades together, he and Noritaka discussed retiring. Noritaka’s eyes were growing dyer, and Gillian was tiring easier. Finally acknowledging their age catching up to them, they planned one last tour before retiring to a quiet life in Washington where he would open a bakery while Noritaka went back to school for an engineering degree. 

At least, that had been the plan until his partner went missing.

Weaknesses: Noritaka, crying, children, his neck (especially where his Adam’s apple is) is sensitive, though his hands never shake, he could use some more practice with footwork

Likes: Watching baseball, movies with bittersweet endings, mango pastries, jazz, having someone run their fingers through his hair

Dislikes: Sand, enclosed spaces, small phones, pill medications

Trivia: 

• His birthday is on April 24th, making him a Taurus.
• He and Noritaka’s relationship is an open secret. He couldn’t care less what others thought of them.  
• He’s generally pleasant towards everyone but doesn’t get along well with Archer out of jealousy of his friendship with Noritaka.
