 QUIRK: Vital pREDATION

Vital Predation is the quirk of the hero Soul Seeker. It enables the user to sustain and enhance himmself by absorbing hydration (body liquids) and nutrients from other individuals by touching them with the palm of his hands. The skin on the palm of his hands is remarkably thin, almost translucent, allowing a glimpse of the underlying blood vessels, revealing a faint hue of red.
Upon absorption, Soul Seeker's own hydration reserves are replenished, accelerating his healing and regeneration processes. This ability grants the user enhanced resistance to injuries, enabling rapid recovery from physical trauma. Additionally, it also gives Soul Seeker a predatory instinct that enables him to sense nearby individuals with rich hydration reserves, perceiving them as vital sources within a certain radius.

*It's important to note that while the quirk provides enhanced healing abilities, it's not invincible, and the user would still need to take appropriate measures to address injuries and manage their health effectively, especially in situations involving significant blood loss or trauma.

Effects:

-Feeding: By touching an individual with the palm of his hands, Akash can activate at will the function of absorbing their hydration. This process replenishes his own reserves and accelerates his healing and regeneration. As he absorbs hydration, the victim may experience weakness, dizziness, rapid heart rate, cold skin… Prolonged contact could be fatal, while the user's own body is revitalized. The weaker he feels, the stronger this effect becomes.

-Recovery: His body is constantly healing and regenerating by consuming his own body liquids and nutrients to maintain optimal condition and / or create new tissue. This grants him overpowered resistance, enabling him to recover from impacts easily and rapidly. The regeneration process begins instantly when damaged, with the time required for complete recovery depending on the severity of the injury. Since this ability is constantly active, he remains generally in good health and never gets sick.

-Predation: By focusing, he can sense and identify nearby individuals with rich hydration reserves, perceiving them as vital sources within a radius of approximately 20 meters. This ability is particularly effective when he is weak, as the urgency of replenishing his own drives him to cover more distance to find suitable sources. When using this ability, his eye pupils shine, and he sees other living beings as white flowy silhouettes, while inanimate objects and surroundings appear darker. His senses are slightly enhanced during this state, which may lead to sensory overload.

-Hunting: He gains highly enhanced strength, senses, and speed by burning his own body liquids and nutrients as if it were his fuel. This ability grants him a predator vision with target lock, enabling him to track and pursue his prey effectively. However, this heightened state can only be sustained for a limited time, with a maximum of 3 to 6 minutes depending on the activity. Afterward, he experiences severe exhaustion and the consequences of the resources loss, which can vary depending on the quantity consumed.

Drawbacks

-Constant Energy Expenditure: Akash’s healing and regenerative abilities are continuously active, requiring a significant expenditure of energy and the constant consumption of his own hydration and nutrients to repair and protect their body. This perpetual demand for resources leaves him prone to fatigue and exhaustion, necessitating frequent intake of food and fluids to sustain his heightened metabolic rate.

-Limited Precision in Healing: While Akash’s body can regenerate damaged tissue, it won’t place broken bones in the correct position nor expell foreign bodies. Injuries may close over foreign objects, trapping them inside the body, which may cause complications.

-The rapid consumption of hydration and nutrients for tissue regeneration can lead to hypovolemic shock, a potentially life-threatening condition caused by a significant loss of blood volume. As plasma is continuously utilized for tissue repair, the body's blood volume may decrease rapidly, compromising circulation and oxygen delivery to vital organs.

-Rare to happen but excessive absorption could lead to hypervolemia, hypertension, hyponatremia, respiratory distress… His body will try to fix the state by vomiting the excess.

-If there were internal hemorragies, he will later vomit that blood.

-Loss of Control in Life-Threatening Situations: In situations where Akash’s body is too weak and his life is in imminent danger, the quirk may activate involuntarily. This can lead to uncontrollable feeding and predation, as the body instinctively seeks to replenish its reserves to survive. To mitigate risks, Akash always carries gloves to restraint.

Personality

Akash could be defined as ambivert. He displays social skills and seems to enjoy interaction with others but also values time alone and keeps certain aspects of himself private.
He is confident and socially magnetic, charismatic and easily becoming popular in social groups despite truly being rather secretive and usually keeping his own worries and struggles for himself, avoiding to show any kind of vulnerability and displaying a cynical perspective on life, knowing the institutions and systems are inherently corrupt and flawed.
Despite his guarded nature, Akash possesses a strong sense of selflessness, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He is particularly protective and caring towards those he deeply loves, exhibiting a fiercely loyal and sometimes jealous streak.
His intelligence is sharp, coupled with an intuitive and analytical mind that allows him to discern patterns and subtleties that others might overlook. This kind of awareness may be also part of his quirk, since quirks tend to activate certain instincts related to their function.
However, Akash's impulsiveness and stubbornness often lead him into reckless situations, prioritizing the safety of others over his own well-being without hesitation.
Because of his quirk normally granting his recovery, Akash tends to forget he could still die just like any other human.
Fearless and brutally honest, Akash's straightforward nature can sometimes be perceived as harsh. He has a penchant for sarcasm and verbal aggression, particularly when provoked, using his sharp wit to unsettle and infuriate those around him. He takes pride in his ability to incite reactions with his biting humor, considering it his true quirk.
Despite his laid-back demeanor at times, Akash is driven by a strong sense of purpose and determination. When he sets his sights on a goal that truly interests him, he will stop at nothing to achieve it, demonstrating a relentless work ethic and unwavering commitment.

NAME Etymology

Akash (আকাশ) means "Sky" in Bengali. (アカシュ in katakana)
Kansei (神生 meaning "God" and "Life")
Poetically, his name could mean "god of life in the sky."
