Eir

Found near the temple of The Mother when she was just a couple days old, Eir has never known a different life than temple life. She was taken in by the high priestress Aeryn, who raised her like her own and taught her kindness, something very important for her. Eir is the rare child of an angel and a demon, also known as a Valkyrie, so the more dominant and aggressive behaviour demons often display is rooted in her genes. Aeryn brought forth the softness and clarity the angels often have, making sure her demonic side didn't get lost (for she deemed that just as important to Eir's identity, therefor making Eir an almost perfect mixture of both species.
Eir is special not just in the sense of being a Valkyrie, but also in being mute. Other than the occasional sound (sneezing, coughing, hiccups and squeeks) she has never been able to speak. She is fluent in sign language, just as everyone who has been around her for a long time. She has also a rare /angelic/ mutation often Valkyries exhibit. Wings flow from her head which she cannot detract (unlike the wings she has on her back. She can choose whether or not she wants those to be out or not, like any regular angel). Theories behind this mutation mostly being seen in Valkyries often stem from the fact that they have demonic horns. So, to show that they're a hybrid, the angel dna manifests itself in such a way that they have a permanent physical feature as well.

Eir is fierce, despite her calm and caring disposition. She might look cute (and definitely not her age) but she a protector of the sanctuary (aka the temple) and the high Priestess. Aeryn did not push Eir to become a warrior or to be her personal protector, but Eir's natural instincts pushed her towards this path. She is protective and can be quite impatient, especially when people do not seem to understand her (her biggest annoyance albeit not uncommon because of her muteness) or are dilly-dallying. Her demonic instincts make her a great warrior, where her angelic instincts make her a great hunter and strategist. She is still like a child at times, almost kitten like. Especially towards Aeryn, who she sees as her surrogate mother. She is also the only one that knows Aeryn is only posing as an angel and is in truth the goddess the temple is devoted to.
