He has a tragic warrior cat backstory, his father (Blackmoon) was banished for being abusive and power hungry and trying to stage a coup of the clan, leading a few other deserters and rouges who wanted power, attacking the leader and deputy. They survived and held off the onslaught, chasing him out. Ashfire's mother is unknown, for his father stole him away from his rouge mother to raise him in the clan when he was just a kit. When his father was banished it left him without blood relative, but he found family in Egretfeather, his adopted grandma and the clan medicine cat. The scar he has on his face is from his father as well as the large x-shaped one on his back, right between his shoulders. His mentor, Snakefang, became like a surrogate father to him, for Snakefang understood what it was like to have evil family...
As a new warrior he has a major crush on Snakefang who carefully circumvents his naïve forwardness.
As a teen, Ashpaw is rebellious and sensitive. He wants to be a hero and has grandiose ideas of what he can achieve! He is also very empathetic which sets him apart from his uncaring father. As he ages he chills out, becoming more of a James Dean bad boy. But really he has a heart of gold and is very responsible and caring for his family.
