Soleil was originally just a Fennekin gifted to Melt from his mother. At first she wasn't certain about being a contest focused pokemon; she enjoyed battling a lot, but did grow to find joy in contest competing the more she engaged in it. Still with a fiery temper and fierce loyalty to Melt she sometimes got in trouble for being a bit too rambunctious.

Soleil and Melt grew close in ways that didn't involve contests and performing too. They would essentially go everywhere together and Melt, admittedly, spoiled her a bit. This didn't change even when they landed on Nozama, though Soleil does miss performing and competing like she used to.
