Moira

*trigger warning for death* Moira, formerly known as "Specimen Zero" was raised in a laboratorium by scientists to see if they could come up with a cure for the pandemic that might entail if the fungus called cordyceps got loose. Moira's mother died during pregnancy, but scientists figured out a way to keep her alive through spreading cordyceps throughout her body. Moira survived in the womb because of the fungus keeping her alive, but it changed her DNA. Moira was now no longer human, but also not entirely zombified. As Moira was a specimen, none of the scientists deemed her worthy of a name. That is until one scientist came along and took pity on her. The scientist named her Moira, deriving from the Greek moíra/μοίρα, meaning destiny or fate. The scientist believed Moira was brought into this world for more than just lab expiriments and testing and hatched a plan to set her free. On her 18th birthday, the scientist was able to break Moira free under the ruse of seeing if the fungus evolved differently after being exposed to the outside world. Moira is now 24 years old, living a simple life. She works as a forensic technician in in the mortuary and lives by herself. Moira is very calm and laidback. Even though she would love nothing more than make friends, she keeps most people at arms length for fear of spreading cordyceps onto them. This is one of the reasons she decided to work as a forensic technician, as it is impossible to spread the fungus to dead people.
