"Meriä" is the golden child of the Pfingstrose.
The most conceited, guileful wretch of a person you could ever meet. He's not opposed to hurting and manipulating if it gives him what he wants. As the trophy child of the Pfingstrose, he's adopted his older brother's old "name". Every part of him has been perfectly set to represent the person that is "Meriä", delivering an impeccable performance of his inherited identity.
Änssel is not afraid nor ashamed to say that he is vile. As the only identity where he is valuable is only a substitute, he revels in malice when he says he wants to be "himself". He doesn't feel remorse, only pettiness when his troublemaking is foiled. Lowly is the life of someone who lives as a fake.
As "Meriä", he is the beautiful prodigal "daughter" of the Pfingstrose. Although he appears to be docile and meek as the "Girl Dressed In Platinum", he is still scheming and strives to have people submit to him, no matter what.
I don't understand. Why don't you love me?
UpbringingAs a child, Änssel was cared for by his older brother, Kaisër. Despite being his only source of love and notice; because the Pfingstrose regarded Kaisër as their most beloved and favorite, Änssel feels more scorn and envy for him.
After the "Accident" and the subsequent events after, Kaisër was disowned and Änssel was chosen to take his place. Since having to adopt his brother's identity, he has been required to crossdress and adopt the rigorous discipline the same mannerisms and training that Kaisër used to perform well in. He can't help but feel pity, but he can't help but let his hatred grow further either.
PubescenceTaking on an persona he depises, Änssel is trained in many arts and mannerisms in order to make a seamless transition of public identity. It's incredibly difficult to make a connection between the busy academic son of the Pfingstrose "Änssel" and the golden, talented daughter of the Pfingstrose estate "Meriä".
Since he's only such a young man, he's rather uncomfortable in his own body at the moment, experiencing the effects of hormones stirring up his bodily chemistry. Paired with having to act out a character, you could imagine how complicated his feelings can be. Being young has its merits, though, as he is hard to blame for his actions.
