Sebastian has a few items he'll always take with him - his ring, gifted to him by Murdock; a coin amulet, gifted by a past lover; and a stuffed unicorn toy, one of the last things he has from his old life. Sebastian is also very particular about his self care and the way he presents himself, as he considers these things to be integral to doing his job as courtesan effectively.

Communication skills

Sebastian considers himself a very effective communicator, especially when he's facillitating a conversation between two separate parties. When it comes to expressing his own wants, needs, and boundaries, he has a hard time even figuring out what those things are, as he's spent so long pushing them down for the sake of others. Perhaps with a bit of hard work from the people he trusts, Sebastian will learn that communication is a two way street. For now, he'd very good at identify what people want out of a conversation and doing everything he can to make that happen.

Showing affection

Sebastian typically tries to show affection in whatever way he deems it will be best receieved. He tries to tailor and personalize his actions (and really his whole self) to the needs of others, with little regard for himself. But as his time on the boat grows and he froms genuine connections with his crew, he expresses his fondness through annoying them, playing music for them on his viola, doing his best to engage in their interests, and even just existing quietly in the same space together. Sebastian, being the ship's courtesan, is also very experienced in dealing out physical affection, in whatever means the receiver will accept.

Facial features

Sebastian is generally considered very pretty, with a strong jaw and button nose. His horns are relatively thick and curve up from his head. The scleras of his eyes are black, and his irises are blue (although only by minor cosmetic magic that Seb applies daily – naturally, his irises are white). Sebastian has pointed fangs and a blue, forked tongue. Seb's left eyebrow is split in its arch, although not by a scar. (Just grows that way!) Yes he does have The Whore Eyes. He's quite proud of that.

Scars & Marks

Sebastian has no visible scars or marks. And if he did, they'd certainly be covered up with magic. (This is to say, Sebastian does have some kind of markings, but for plot reasons, I can't talk about them yet!)

Tattoos

Sebastian doesn't have any tattoos, preferring to keep his skin clear of any permanent markings. He'll start going on about the beauty of a blank canvas or something equally pretentious if you ask, but it's really just because he wants to keep himself as a kind of blank slate for other people, and it's easier to magic tattoos on rather than off.

Piercings & Jewelry

Sebastian does have a handful of piecrings – one on his right ear (yes that is the gay ear thanks for asking), three in his tail, a tongue piercing and a set of nipple piecings.

As far as jewelery goes, Sebastian loves finery and will happily drape himself in gold if there's an occassion to, although when it comes to regular days aboard The Diamond, this often gets in the way. The only jewelry that Sebastian consistantly wears are his piercings (a single gold hoop earring, three studs in his tail and a cuff and chain at the base of his tail, a ball in his tongue and gold barbells in the nipples) his necklace (a trinket given to him by a peculiar past lover from the sea – the necklace itself is a gold coin with a blue gem in its center), and his ring (a gift from Murdock, a simple gold band with a small blue stone set into it).

All of Seb's jewelry is typically gold, but he's not unwilling to swap out colors for a particular outfit. He, Casimir, and Time all have a tradition where they get a new piercing together after every year they sail on The Diamond (hence Sebastian's 5 piercings for their 5 years together – the earring is from before Seb joined the crew).

Wardrobe

Sebastian loves expressing himself and having fun through his sense of fashion, although he's committed first and foremost to being on theme to whatever event he's attending. A firm believer in being able to serve hard without disrespecting the nature of the function he's at, Seb thrives in finding clothes that are sexy, fun, and functional. He will make a simple poet shirt and fitted pants combo slay while working on his ship, just as much as he'll happily bust out a full masquerade ensemble for an elegant ball. It's not about upstaging everyone else by being the most outrageously dressed there – it's about knowing the game you're playing and making the rules sing for you.

Story

Sathe

Sebastian was adopted into a noble family when he was very young and spent a childhood in relative luxury. His parents encouraged his love of music and taught him how to play viola, along with instructing him in other fine arts like arcane studies, swordsmanship, literature, history, and poetry. In his youth, Sebastian had a hard time making genuine friends, as many people in his village only sought his company because of his social power or (as he got older) attractiveness. It was hard for him to feel like he was making genuine connections when it turned out time after time that people were only vying for his attention to take advantage of his power or his looks. However, Sebastian did manage to make one genuine friend – a commoner boy his age named Morris. Still, between his family and friend, Sebastian had a comfortable, happy childhood.

When Sebastian was 18, his parents kicked Sebastian out, formally disowning him seemingly out of nowhere. This transpired extremely quickly – ⁠one day, they were a loving, happy family, and the next, Sebastian was being told to pack his things and put on a cart out of town. Armed with his viola and his smuggled nobility ring, Sebastian's cart out of Sathe was hailed by Morris, who, unknowing of Sebastian's family drama and simply seeing his last opportunity to speak his heart, confessed his long-harbored love for Sebastian. Having literally the worst day of his life and now feeling doubly betrayed because the only person he had left on the planet who had forged a true connection with him, one unrelated to his status or beauty, had (from Sebastian's prespective) been lying the entire time, projecting delusions of romance onto Seb, who had only wanted a friend. He snapped at Morris, lashing out in anger with the intention to hurt him so they'd never interact again. With his ties to his life at Sathe completely severed, Sebastian swore to build himself back up to the life of luxury he once held. He would not allow people who had apparently never loved him rip away his sense of self –⁠ he would remake himself into something better, something no one could ever take away.

Fighting style

Sebastian is a lover, not a fighter, but he also prefers to not end up skewered on the business end of a rapier, so he's picked up a few tricks. He thrives on controlling enemies and utilizing charm magic to take out threats, but he's also quite comfortable behind a sword if he needs to be. Sebastian is typically happy to let others move to the front of the line and bask in the glory of their fight; he's much more comfortable supporting his allies or taking out enemies from a distance. Sebastian also loves running a good gambit, and it more than willing to offer himself up as bait, distraction, or anything else that needs a good performance to land.
