Jasper is a petite tom who loves kits, hunting, climbing, and trees.

Personality
Jasper is patient, caring, protective, open-minded, and cautious. He holds his friends very dear to his heart, and prioritizes his loved ones over everything; his bonds and relationships are everything to him. He does not make reckless sacrifices and generally does well under pressure, but under enough of it, he can sometimes act on impulse, though this is very rare.
He has a very stable personality and is very rational, though values his friends over everything. He is closer to being a realist than an optimist, but is very far from pessimism. Jasper has too gentle of a personality to be considered for leadership, but does share that love for his pack-mates.
He doesn't mind settling in different places; he is flexible to environments and enjoys occasional explorations. Jasper will always follow his loved ones.
Design notes
Jasper doesn't have any scars. He has blue and green eyes. He has a soft, well-kept medium-length coat. He is very agile and petite; he is flexible, swift, and short. He's built more for hunting and climbing rather than fighting; combat is his biggest weakness, he would fight very defensively.
Details
Backstory
Jasper grew up in a different pack with his parents, Avyanna and Darius, and younger sister, Selene, from kithood to late apprenticeship. Avyanna died during Selene's birth, so Jasper and Darius raised her. After some time their pack flooded; Jasper and Selene stayed together but lost their father. Darius never made contact with his family again, but he did later have a kit named Amaryllis with another she-cat. Jasper never discovers his half-sister, as Amaryllis never knows her father.
Jasper grows up very quickly as he learns how to take care of and raise Selene on his own during the weeks it takes them to find a group to settle in. They come cross a pack called the Felines of Everlasting Downpour, led by Koi and Arrow. Selene never fully settles here, and tells Jasper they should leave someday to reunite with Darius. Jasper agrees until he bonds with several members of the pack and when Walkway, led by Grimm, violently overtakes their pack, he cannot leave them behind. In the moment of the cruel takeover he prompts Selene to leave without him for the time being, for her safety, and she does. Jasper is never able to find her again.
Jasper reluctantly adapts to Grimm's violent way of leading and stays in hopes of protecting his friends however he can, mostly focused on keeping everyone together. All this time he has become very close to and raised Jasmine from kithood, and feels like an older brother again. She and many others eventually build the courage to leave and create Bayou, led by Chrysanthemum.
Some of his friends never join them, afraid of conflicting with Grimm. Eventually Attu, Grimm's son, peacefully recruits those from Bayou who are willing to join Walkway again, but under different, kinder leadership. Grimm is killed by her own son soon after and Bayou disbands; some become rogues, and some hesitantly rejoin Walkway. Jasper resides there present day alongside his friends.
Trivia
- He has two former mates; Vendetta and August, both of which he has fallen out of touch with since their split. Jasper had a much more prolonged relationship with August, but ultimately split because they couldn't see each other enough. He is now single and very focused on finding a new relationship as Jasmine (his informal apprentice) is fully grown and his warrior duties only fulfill so much of his time; Walkway is at peace.
- Jasper's only official past apprentice was Alreon, but he unofficially trained Shera, daughter to Cervanna and cast out from her siblings, and Jasmine.
- Jasper was always closer to his mother growing up, and him and his father were very dazed by her death. They both were slow to show love toward Selene. Jasper would always tell stories of their mother to her, but Selene may have never felt as connected to her family as she could have. Jasper doesn't know if Selene died or gave up on looking for him. He wasn't able to search for her until he joined Bayou.
