Aether and the dragon she is attached to are totally separate beings. The humanoid portion extending from the lower jaw is a parasite that bonded to the dragon by chance when falling from space. She boasts about her good fortune to all her parasite compatriots who typically had to work harder to find a dragon to bond to. Her relationship with her dragon host is a symbiotic one. She has an extremely good sense of the migration patterns of prey as well as a knack for finding calm skies to fly in. She communicates with her dragon half telepathically though she had been known to verbalize their conversations when they're on the ground (no sense in trying while airborne for they'd be unable to hear one another over the wind). She finds humans to be very cute and fawns over the ones she comes across. She's more than happy to indulge their requests when she can. Her territory overlaps with Dogoda's but their paths rarely cross since Aether's preferred prey is scarce in the mountains.

Aether occupies the highest reaches of the atmosphere. She can be seen leaving aura like trails in the night sky or circling icy peaks during the day. The agricultural communities she soars over see her as an omen of good fortune as she rarely preys on humans or livestock and good weather typically follows in her wake. Direct encounters with her are extremely rare and those who have come face to face with her are widely considered blessed. Attempts to establish contact with her typically fail which adds to her air of divinity.
