Discipline requres a strong will. Odelie Durand never slacks off and puts in 100% of her effort whether she's working with Abnormalities, suppressing them, or getting through copious amounts of paperwork, because these are her duties as captain of the Disciplinary Team. Although her duty is to keep agents in line with the rules, Odelie herself is a friendly person open to meeting new people. She tries to make herself approachable to newer agents despite the horrifying E.G.O. suit she wears, and once they get used to the sight of it, they usually agree that she is in fact nice to be around. She gives off high energy without coming off as overwhelming and exhibits an optimistic worldview in contrast with her bleak environment.

Her charismatic personality does not mean she doesn't do her job properly, however. Any agent who breaks protocol faces her wrath, which emerges in the form of a long berating and a paper assignment requiring the offender to explain what they did wrong due the next day. Should an agent break the same rule a second time, she will ask them to accompany her the next time Mountain of Smiling Bodies breaches and allow them to watch as she effortlessly cuts through it with a single stroke of Mimicry's blade. Through this second warning, she has never had to deal with a thrice-repeated offense.

Soon after her arrival in the Disciplinary Department, Odelie learned how to wield E.G.O. equipment with skills of her own. She quickly became the top agent in number and efficiency of suppressions, and was assigned to distract Little Red whenever she breached containment. Thanks to Gebura's tutelage, she also became the top candidate to equip Mimicry once it had been extracted. Since then, the Red Mist's Disciple has been seemingly unstoppable.

As for the other aspect of her job, suppressing Abnormalities, she finds a thrill in putting her life at risk to fight them. The more dangerous the class, the better. She loves the feeling so much that it dismays her when a day ends without any breaches. She is still capable of fighting alongside teammates, but those not accustomed to seeing her in proper combat are often shocked at how much she transforms; the cheery woman turns into a literal sadist who relishes in dominating the battlefield. Her strict sense of morality is the only force preventing her from brutalizing her fellow humans, and she loves Abnormalities for being exceptions to that. However, the thrill disappears as soon as either the Abnormality is suppressed or an ally dies, the latter causing her to shift into a somber state of being. She is sensitive to grief, and it only takes witnessing the deaths of a few colleagues to trigger murder panic despite her high Prudence.

Odelie considers herself a fraud.

Five years ago, her older brother ditched her in the middle of the night to join L Corp without so much as saying goodbye. She entered an examinee town in order to enter the Wing. However, before she arrived, someone, and she has no idea who, delivered a solid blow to the back of her head. She woke up in the examinee town remembering absolutely nothing from the past 19 years of her life, not even her own name. The only thing she had to go off of was the original Odelie's diary, whose sparse entries only logged events from the past year. She had a mom and a dad, both of them recently murdered, and she had been evicted from her old home. Although her "big bro" (A very cringe-worthy nickname, notes the present Odelie) is connected to their deaths, he is not to blame for them, even though he blames himself. Otherwise, she does not even know their names, considering the original Odelie would have found it trivial to record them.

Lacking any better options, she decided to continue following the original Odelie's plan of getting into L Corp. The only way she could figure out her past was by finding her brother, if she could even recognize him. However, forgetting all of her knowledge on the City put her at a great disadvantage compared to her peers. She needed to relearn everything from scratch before she could even begin to compete at their level. Moreover, she was burning through her parents' savings just by living in the examinee town. She picked up two part-time jobs at a local restaurant and a warehouse and juggled them with her studies for five years. It was a gruelling experience, but just when she was about to give up, she finally got accepted into the Wing.

Presently, Odelie still feels like she is merely imitating her previous self based on her diary entries. She doesn't have a sense of self, nor does she feel like the original. As far as she knows, she is masquerading in the skin of the person formerly known as Odelie and trying to play her role without any stage directions. Yet, she doesn't want to try to be her own person either because, well, she kind of enjoys playing as Odelie. This bubbly, carefree, bombastic persnality fits her like a glove, just not one she's familiar with. She knows she's not playing the part entirely correctly, but at the same time, it would feel more wrong to not be like this at all. So although she feels like a fraud, she's trying to own it.

This mindset helped her resist Mimicry's corrosion and even resonate with the E.G.O., allowing her to transform the sword into various weapons, her favorite being a long scythe.
