Vaermina is the brainchild of an eccentric artist: Lady Eleanor Berisha. Specifically commissioned to fit her eerie painting style, Vaermina was to be both terrifying and caring. The Tracker Dog was a guard dog first and foremost, and lovingly accompanied Eleanor to every gallery and exposition, often giving others quite the fright. This was all much to the delight of Eleanor. Vaermina became not only a companion but also a muse to the older woman, and even in retirement it was often the canine that decorated the canvas of whatever painting Eleanor worked on.

Yet all good things must come to an end. An unexpected heart attack tore down Vaermina's world, and without as much as a goodbye she was suddenly alone. She resisted when paramedics were called to the scene, ultimately leading to Vaermina needing to be tranquilized. When she woke up there was no one to greet her. Eleanor had no children and no caretakers were willing to take Vaermina in. The Tracker Dog remained in the manor for months, hoping to once more see her beloved human. When no one came for her, Vaermina fled into the woods behind the manor to mourn her loss. She has since become a vicious presence, a ghost of the forest, unkind to anyone disturbing her peace. Yet she has been known to take care of strays, and protects animals that were dumped in the woods.
