Dawn worked alongside Ethel in the pre-war era. The two ran a cleaning business together until Ethel was placed in a care home in her old age. Soon after, the great war occurred. Dawn experienced ghoulification in the coming days.

Prior to being imprisoned during the events of Van Buren, Dawn had established herself as a sign spinner for a local business. Whilst there were many concerns of her turning feral, her ability to stand outside all day regardless of radiactive weather proved invaluable.
