Emma

Emma was Rai's first Mother(not biological. In this world, "Mother" is just what you call someone who cares for children, more like a daycare worker) before she had all of her kids taken away and given to other Mothers. 

She is female and in her 20s. She has light skin, wavey brown hair, and brown eyes. She often keeps her hair tied back in a ponytail.

She wears the same grey jumpsuit everyone in this world wears, with purple accessories for her career as a Mother. A purple bow in her hair is a constant. 

She is indecisive and nervous. When given the option to choose a career, she couldn't decide in time, leaving the Government to choose work for her. They assigned her to being a Mother, and she wasn't exactly enthused, but she did her best. She managed to skate past her apprenticeship and the first 10 years of being in charge of the kids, but as soon as they turned 10 and they were completely her responsibility instead of being able to rely on apprentices, she found herself struggling to care for so many kids she didn't even want in the first place. She was overwhelmed and stopped caring for any of them at all, spiraling into panic-driven depression. The authorities were quickly alerted to the neglect, and her kids were given to other mothers. Last Rai heard, Emma was taken to a place that would care for her as she is tested and trained for another career.

Emma was very distant with her kids from the start, assigning various assistants to do everything for her. Over time, she only got worse, becoming pretty much non-existant in the eyes of her kids. As such, Rai doesn't have a lot of memories of her. They have very mixed feelings about her.
