QUIRKY: Carmen is extremely spontaneous, to the point where it’s nearly impossible to predict what she’s going to say or do.. She likes to joke around about stuff that other pokemon don’t really understand, and doesn’t seem to take anything too seriously. Because of this, most people find it hard to get to know her, and many find her weird and off-putting. Truth be told, Carmen really doesn’t care; in fact, she kind of enjoys being known for her odd antics.

LAID BACK: Carmen is very mellow, and likes to go with the flow. She lives entirely in the present, making impetuous decisions based on whatever she currently feels like doing. She’s often so relaxed that she's completely unbothered by threats of danger. She’s really good at reading others’ intentions, so she can always call someone’s bluff. The only time she’ll take action is when she knows someone is being serious.

HARD-WORKING: Although she loves to kick back and relax, Carmen is far from lazy. On the contrary, she’s an incredibly hard worker who genuinely enjoys her job. She gets bored pretty easily, so she likes to stay fairly productive throughout the day.

INTELLIGENT: Carmen may come across as airheaded or unaware, but she’s actually a lot smarter than she lets on. She’s quick to pick up on new skills, and is observant of things that often go unnoticed. Subjects such as math or science are easy for her to remember and calculate on the fly, even without the assistance of her dex form.

LOYAL: It’s hard to gain Carmen’s loyalty and trust, but once you do, she’ll stick by your side for life. She’s very picky about who she takes orders from, and will only listen to people she deems trustworthy. She hates being treated as a tool, and will go out of her way to mess with anyone who makes her feel that way.

Background

Nobody is quite sure how Carmen wound up on Paradise Island. She washed up on the shore of Seaside Beach one day with nothing but a pink pokedex. One of the residents of Seaside Village, a flaaffy named Pastelle, found her and helped her recover her strength. The two ended up becoming best friends, and Pastelle offered Carmen a room in the lighthouse where she and her sister lived. Carmen now works at the Seaside Port, helping to organize and schedule the arrivals and departures of imported and exported goods. Although she has no memories prior to her arrival in Seaside Village, she really enjoys her life, and wouldn’t trade it for the world.
