Important Info for Commissions

HEIGHT: 4'2" BUILD: Tall, skinny underfed child. SKIN COLOUR: Greyish-pink. Thin white-tipped brown fuzz. APPARENT AGE: 6 HAIR:  Brownish with white tips. Short and messy. EYES: Large, yellow, no whites. SCARS/MARKINGS: None.  MAIN OUTFIT: Over-sized t-shirt or School Uniform. Small cardboard sign around neck says "I have to lie". No shoes. OTHER IMPORTANT TRAITS: Oversized aye-aye ears. Small overbite. Aye-aye claws for hands and feet. Aye-aye tail. PERSONALITY: Honest and sweet. Likes bugs.

Appearance Description: Aside from his oversized aye-aye shaped ears, and large, reflective, completely yellow eyes, Eek has the facial features of a normal human child. He does have a tiny overbite, though. His skin is a pasty, greyish-pink colour, and his body is covered in thin, white-tipped brown fuzz, that is a little longer than normal human body hair. Instead of normal eyebrows, he has a bit of long fuzz, like someone burned his eyebrows off. His hair sticks up all over his head, and is the same brownish colour as the rest of his body hair, with white tips, but a little thicker. His hands and feet are the same nearly skeletal claws of the aye-aye, extremely thin and long, perfect for digging bugs out of trees. Eek himself is very tall for his age, 4'2", and almost gaunt. Eek looks perpetually malnourished, even when he isn't.

The young boy mostly wears loose, oversized t-shirts, accepting whatever clothes are given to him and wearing them as long as possible. He also wears a small sign around his neck saying he has to lie. Shoes are uncomfortable on his clawed feet, so he never wears them voluntarily. His tail is almost as long as himself and usually kept wrapped around his body. For comfort, Eek will cling to his tail like a security blanket.

Eek's aye-aye form is still underdeveloped and immature. His fur is the same colour as the hair on his humanoid form, brown with white tips, but rather sparse. Being not full grown yet, he's only about 9 inches, and about a pound in this form.

Personality Description: Before coming to the island, Eek's short lifetime had been filled with people screaming at him and running away or worse. This made him very sensitive to signs of fear and somewhat timid, though he is quite friendly towards anyone who shows him any amount of kindness. The boy is independent, not used to accepting help from anyone, often foraging on his own, and still sleeping in trees rather than at the school.

The baby fae has a bright inquisitive mind, never letting go of a question until it has been answered, but generally trusting that answer to be true. He's also very honest in his own way, for someone who is biologically wired to lie. If anyone stayed long enough to talk to him he would make sure they knew he lied and then just say the direct opposite of what he meant. He would also never break a promise (the one he meant, not the one he said.) Although he couldn't put it into words, Eek always tries to pay his debts, never taking any gift for granted, though he's likely to attempt to repay people with bugs and fruit. Even when he doesn't feel he owes anyone, the boy is a generous sweetheart who loves to share, and he can overcome some of his fears out of concern for someone else being hurt.

He looks up to police officers and mothers because they take care of people and protect them, but he also admires certain criminals and wants to "grow up and have parties and give people alcohol and drugs' cause it makes them happy."

Active Abilities:

Aye-Aye Form - Can shape-shift into this form and back again at any time, in mere seconds. As he is only a child, he can only do two full shifts (there and back) a day, and can only maintain the form for, at the most, 30 minutes before losing consciousness and switching back, but this will increase as he gets older. While in animal form, Eek still possesses the exact same mind as he does in his normal form and still has all his abilities, except for speech.

Weak Telekinesis - Could throw a small snowball, less than 1/2 lb, about 10 feet. But couldn't lift anything for more than a minute, and couldn't move anything heavier at all.

Passive Abilities:

Fae Charm Aura - Not a physical attraction but more of a magical aura of "You don't want to kill me." Doesn't affect people's like/dislike of him. It affects all sentient beings but is not very strong. It simply makes Eek seem a little more interesting. People who are naturally resistant to charm or illusion would not be affected, neither would people with magical protection from it.

Functionally Immortal - Will stop aging around 50. Won't die of natural causes/old age, but can be killed.

Immune to natural poisons - Magic-based or metal-based poison would work on Eek. Weapons tipped with poison would still hurt him, it's just the poison that wouldn't.

Aye-Aye Affinity - In both forms, Eek is nocturnal, with very good night vision. His ears are shaped to allow him to use echolocation to find bugs in trees. This echolocation is not as precise as a bat's and is not a substitute for sight, but is perfect for hearing things behind closed doors. His fingers are very slender and agile and tipped with sharp claws. His teeth are perpetually growing, so he needs to gnaw on wood or other things, so they don't grow too long.

Weaknesses:

Iron Aversion - When Eek makes physical contact with any iron item, whether it is a weapon or a simple tool, it causes his skin to burn and blister quite painfully. Any wounds that he receives from an iron weapon are excruciatingly painful and aggravated. These wounds fester, burn, and will never heal without the aid of magic.

Pathological Liar - Due to a peculiarity of paedopseudologoi, Eek cannot tell the truth by word or writing. He could use half-truths or exaggerations. His body language does not have to lie though.

Biography:

Eek's life has been rather unfortunate, starting from his birth, which was actually supposed to be a prank by his mother. His only name has been the name she gave him when she first saw him. He was pretty much abandoned at that point, fed by other, friendlier fae in his world, but mostly ignored.

So Eek lived by himself in this fae world, which actually wasn't too unusual for the paedopseudologoi, but was rather hard on this one, because he didn't even have one solid mentor.

The fae world where Eek was born coincides with other worlds but is not part of them. It has various exit points, depending on which world someone wishes to travel to, most commonly the human world. As soon as he could walk, he went through one of these portals into the human world, but people there were scared of him. They usually screamed or ran away, but were sometimes quite violent, even when he tried to escape into animal form. A couple of times, the poor baby-fae barely escaped being shot.

Fortunately, after a couple years, he heard another fae talking about an Island filled with all sorts of supernatural folk. A strange place, with many varied creatures. Not just humans or fae, but things like robots and dragons. Eek hoped that maybe someone would accept him there. He followed the other fae to a portal that led out onto Manta Carlos. He kind of wandered around for a bit, cold and shivering, until someone took pity on the poor baby-fae and brought him to a police station. These people were a lot nicer than anyone the little guy had ever met.

Not many big events have happened for Eek since his arrival on the island, but a lot of smaller things have contributed to his growth including making friends and being registered with the school.

Resources: Under care of orphanage/school. Still mostly forages for food.
