The main MAIN protagonist of Hatch, Ray is an inquisitive young reporter with a good nose for mysteries and engaging stories. Their bold risk-taking for the sake of their job sometimes gets them in trouble though, as it's the very reason they found themself in the town of Hatch. They are good friends with Jar and Frankie, and the reporting rival of Effie G., often butting heads with her to try and get the latest scoop first. Has a side hobby of crocheting, always carrying around a hand-made spider (affectionately dubbed  "Meal O' Crunchy") in their satchel. Spiders also happen to be their favorite animal.
