I follow my heart, not orders
Sorrelstep was once a clan warrior, recognised for their swiftness but also for their lack of obedience.
They had a hard time fitting in as a clan cat, being considered too inquisitive and easily distracted. They also had an overly harsh mentor with no patience or appreciation for Sorrel's talents. Sorrel also had a hard time fighting for causes they didn't believe in and so decided to leave the clan and became a rogue, only occasionally returning to meet with their brother.
Sorrel is happy living their life for themself and their friends, and fights for what they believe in.
Sorrel is loyal and reliable with a very strong morals, though they are easily overwealmed.
They have some confidence issues and tend to second guess themself. They're easily stressed and prefer to avoid conflict and tense situations, though they won't hesitate to come to the aid of their friends in need. Though they still struggle with trauma from their past, they enjoy being silly and making their friends laugh.
Sorrel's goal in life is to to be unapologetically themself and live happily with their loved ones close by.

Sorrel has always had a hard time connecting with others, and even themself. Constantly trying to adjust themself to fit in a box they didn't belong in. Thier relationships with most others throughout their life have always been precarious and built upon an unstable foundation of restrictiveness and insincerity. Only when Sorrel was able to take the leap, discover themself and set out into the world to find their own way, were they able to form deep and genuine connections with new friends and their sibling.
KITHOOD
Sorrel was born in Greenleaf in a litter of two, the healthier between themself and thier brother, Pine. Due to Pine's frailness in early life, Sorrel didn't have much oppertunity to socialise with other kit's thier age, instead following around their older brother, Spruce, who enjoyed showing off his superiority. Their mother was happy with the attention that came with having kits, but tended to neglect them emotionally. When Pine grew stronger, He and Sorrel started thier warrior training together, though Pine was more timid than Sorrel and preferred to follow them. Sorrel was more forward but often got into trouble for their lack of obedience and constant questioning of the norm. Both Sorrel and Pine had a hard time connecting with the other kits during training. Sorrel would attempt to adjust themself to be liked by the other apprentices which lead to them being confused and unhappy, while Pine chose to keep to himself. The siblings would clash on occasion, Sorrel, taking the side of the other apprentices who would tease Pine, and Pine intentionally pushing Sorrel's buttons.
WARRIORHOOD
Sorrel was given the warrior name SorrelStep in hounour of their swiftness. Despite showing great skill in many areas of their warrior training, they tended to fall short when it came to their willingness to hurt others and thier general conflict avoidence. These were traits that persisted even after becoming a full warrior. As they matured, they came to understand that trying to be someone they're not for the approval of others was holding them back, as a result, their relationships with their "friends" at the time soured, but their relationship with thier brother PineWhisker, who had also started to be more considerate of Sorrel's feelings, was stronger than ever. After many clashes with their mother, mentor and other clan cats, Sorrel decided to leave and become a rogue. They were hestient to leave PineWhisker behind, but respected that he wasn't ready to leave yet. While Sorrel contines to wander far beyond the forest, they occasionally return to visit PineWhisker and see if he is ready to join them.

Sorrel has long, fluffy fur around thier head and mane and a fairly long and sharp muzzle. Thier pattern is reminiscent of a raccoon and thier tail is long and soft.
They're a little smaller than the average cat and has especially small paws that sheath long, sharp claws. They have a notch in one ear, long eyelashes and slightly downturned eyes.
Their expression is typically neutral or an unintentional scowl, when they smile, they do so brightly and enthusiastically.
Sorrel met cloud in the city after escaping a shelter. They had been captured and taken there after being attacked by a fox. Cloud showed them around and introduced them to the world of city cat life. The two became fast friends and are now joint at the hip, travelling between city and country and sharing adventures together.
