Yoshioka Kanako
Kanako is a former Kanoe rank within the Demon Slayer Corp., and was Kocho Shinobu's tsukugo before his death. He goes by he/him pronouns.
When he was alive, Kanako was a precocious young demon slayer who, alongside his sister, Kimiko, shot through the ranks as Kocho Shinobu's tsukugos. The pair had incredible potential and held a lot of promise as demon slayers, but were killed by Upper Rank Six on their first solo mission - notably, not a mission appropriate for someone their ages nor ranks. At the time, it was not known that an Upper Rank was present, and that remained unknown for several years, as their bodies weren't found - all communication simply stopped.

Yoshioka Kimiko [ Sister ]
Kimiko is the older sibling by a few minutes, but has never acted the older sibling. Kanako, from a very young age, was defensive of his sister, and unsurprisingly took the lead in most situations. It was his decision to become demon slayers after their family was killed, and him who plead to Shinobu to train them. Kanako also blames himself for his sister's death, and would have become a demon if it weren't for seeing her death by Daki.
Kocho Shinobu [ Mentor ]
Kocho Shinobu was Kanako and Kimiko's mentor, as they were her tsukugo. Kanako had a great deal of respect for her, and thought it was incredible that she used poison to kill demons, rather than beheading them. Unlike some of Kocho's other tsukugo, Kanako and his sister wished to follow her path directly - simply not having the guts to take a head... supposedly, anyway. The reality of it was that he just thought it was cool, and didn't want his sister to have to be alone in her lack of strength.
Tsuyuri Kanao [ Neutral ]
Kanako and Kimiko were a bit older than Kanao when they met, and Kanako found her incredibly strange.... but also remarkably similar to his sister. Although she was young, he thought of her as a younger sister, and often defended her when Kocho got frustrated with her lack of decision making. However, he has a feeling that Kanao felt indifferent regarding his defense of her. He doesn't mind that, though.
