Clotho is a bit of an oddball, having chosen to leave her birth nest in favor of dwelling in a desert city. She works as a weaver and clothing merchant, and her friend/housemate Muscat is a very willing model. The patterns in her designs are made with both the silk itself (she can, to a small degree, affect how bright her silk is as she produces it) and dyes, making for very striking looks.
She is quite wealthy due to the high demand, but also very busy. She makes small lanterns and other light sources out of silk she deems unworthy of being clothing due to minute flaws, so she spends a great deal of time and energy on each square inch of cloth. Most of her money goes toward high-quality food that supports her silk output.
The house she shares with Muscat would be multi-level for anyone else, but it was constructed in such a way that the "top floor" is actually a personal-sized nest made by Clotho herself. She's quite proud of it.
