Personality

Traits

Positive

- Committed to his work, Rokuro is unwavering in his dedication to his training. He is willing to face down any challenge put in front of him if it means progressing as a shinobi.

- Rokuro is ambitious, he sees a goal and he strives with everything that he has to conquer it.

- Good-natured, Rokuro is always looking out for the interests of others. He constantly finds himself trying to help out when and where he can.

- His own biggest critic, Rokuro is keen on pushing himself to be the best that he can be, and paying constant attention to the things he does usually keeps his ego in check. Still a young man though, this too remains a work in progress.

- With a mind always on his next step as a shinobi, Rokuro is brimming with ideas on innovations in his use of jutsu.

Negative

- Rokuro's willingness to face down any challenge obviously comes with a price. It is not often that he flees a fight, regardless of the strength of his opponent. A trait that can easily get him killed. He will flee eventually if need be, but not without a serious reason.

- Being young, Rokuro's curiosity is bound to get him in trouble. He finds himself almost unconsciously seeking - and finding - trouble quite often.

- Rokuro's confidence can swell a bit too much, depending on the mission. He may very well underestimate an opponent, or even overestimate his own capabilities.

- On the flip side, Rokuro also tends to be his harshest critic, and his confidence can take a serious downward swing if he does not feel that he is doing as well as he could be.

- Rokuro can be fairly protective, especially of those that he has grown to care about. Generally without care as to his own well-being if their lives are placed in jeopardy. The safety of others, regardless of who they are, comes before his own. While useful in protecting civilians, a dead shinobi isn't a good shinobi.

- Rokuro tends to be too proud to admit his own anxieties to others, always trying to shoulder his burdens on his own if he can.

Fluff

- At times deathly serious, focused on the task at hand. Others, he can be seen freely cracking wise and trying to make everyone around him jolly.

- He can be a bit of a flirt. While generally it is just Rokuro joking around, he can be a bit forward. That side of his sense of humor may not be for everyone.

- Rokuro enjoys keeping himself busy and occupied, but finds time to relax once in awhile. Not as often as he should though. Even his father thinks he’s too dedicated to his training.

- A big lad, Rokuro needs to eat big to keep up his strength. Man can devour an entire steak plate in two minutes flat. Which is probably what led him to taking up fishing as his form of relaxation. Continuing in doing something practical and you get to eat fish.

- Rokuro favors Fire Style Jutsu.

- He is interested in his family’s history, always in pursuit of what techniques he could adapt from his forebears.

- Will probably do fire puns to death. Or puns in general, really.

- Can get very, very intense and fired up in fight, even in sparring matches.

- As much as Rokuro enjoys the thrill of battle, he does not enjoy killing. He does however, understand the necessity of it and will not hesitate if needed.

Strengths

- With intense training, Rokuro is physically strong and as tough as an oxe.

- His training has given Rokuro a focused mind, with a shinobi’s patience. Of course, it could still use some work.

- Training to move through the shadows as though they are part of him, his speed and agility reflect the years he has put in as a shinobi, almost deceptively so for his size.

- With a calculated mind and refined attention to detail, Rokuro is proficient as a tactician. He is able to form plans very quickly on the fly, though this too has its drawbacks.

- Rokuro's stubbornness can lead to him pushing himself beyond his physical limitations. While it only lasts as long as his body will allow, his strength of will combined with his stubbornness can make him a dangerous foe if cornered.

- Constantly shouldering his burdens himself, Rokuro's will is strong. But it has its limits.

- Rokuro appears to have a knack for creating new techniques.

Weaknesses

- As a young man, Rokuro's discipline still needs temperament and his patience can waver.

- Rokuro is a stubborn young man. His being unwilling to know when to stop in a battle, even when at his limits, is a serious threat to his well-being. He can be quite reckless, especially if someone's life is in danger, and he has a horrible habit of putting himself at risk.

- Rokuro's protectiveness can lead to a weakness in regards to manipulation and mind games, and he is still too young and inexperienced to be able to fully block out and overcome that sort of thing. He has however, become better at breaking out of genjutsu.

- While he can generally think and plan quickly, Rokuro can overthink things, slowing him down in combat or causing him to make a mistake. With so much going on in there at one time, it's no surprise he might even confuse and disorient himself here and there.

- With this issue of overthinking and his obsession with self-improvement, Rokuro possesses a fair amount of anxiety on the regular. Rokuro can be his own worst enemy.

Features

Standing at 6’5 with a muscular but lean build, Rokuro looks every bit of what one would expect from the Goromaru Clan. Just as he has built up his skillset, Rokuro has built his body with battle on the mind. Not too slim, not too slow. His height however, is not something he could control. Something he at times regrets when trying to fit through doors. A few scars adorn his body here and there, depicting the story of a man who adores the thrill of the fight even if it kills him one day. He possesses the signature of many from the Goromaru Clan – blazing eyes that resemble a raging fire.

Backstory

The Goromaru Clan

The Goromaru Clan have existed - and fought - for many generations, with their great forebear Katsu Goromaru being heralded as a great warrior who loved every second on the field of battle. Katsu raised his sons and daughters to share the love for it that he did, training them early and preparing for them to one day join him on the great fields of battle. While Katsu himself was an older man by the time the shinobi nations were established proper, his first-born son, Katsu The Second would see an opportunity in the strife between them that followed. Inspired by his father's love of battle to the point of obsessively craving it, the second Katsu would gather his family and build a band of mercenary shinobi, fighting the most glorious of battles for the highest paying benefactor. While the currency they incurred was wonderful, the Goromaru were not seeking out the highest paid jobs simply for said currency. In the eyes of Katsu’s clan, they had a far greater purpose in mind. The greater the cost, the greater the battle would be. The more dangerous the job, the higher the pay. The higher the pay, the more dangerous the job. They would fight anybody. They would fight the armies of kings, nobles, and the military forces of anyone who dared get in their way. They would even fight their former employers for the right price.

All they wanted was to fight, to train, and grow stronger so they could continue to fight even stronger opponents. Their end goal was only the pure thrill that the fight brought them. It didn’t matter where it came from. What would become known as the Goromaru Clan were once feared for their obsession with battle and the brutality of which some members approached it. Yet for all that fear; there was also a healthy level of respect from those they faced for the life that they lived. Men, women and even the children of Clan Goromaru were fearless, charging without hesitation into the fiercest of battles, caring not for the odds that faced them. They threw themselves into battle with smiles on their faces, and their survivors left each battlefield with roars of laughter as loud as the war cries that had brought them into said fight.

The Goromaru were sought out for their talents in battle during the first initial conflicts between the lands and their hidden villages, being hired as mercenaries to bolster the forces of whomever would and could hire their services. They would eventually forge a strong relationship with their most common employer — Konohagakure, the Hidden Village in the Leaves. The Goromaru Clan constantly provided aid in ensuring the survival of the Hidden Leaf Village during troubling times, and its patriarch forged a close bond with the at the time Hokage. When the fighting eventually reached an impasse for the time being, the Goromaru Clan were left with less battles to fight. The world was now in a state where rebuilding had become a priority for all. Aside from fighting monsters and bandits here and there, the clan had found themselves bored quite quickly.

But an offer from the Hokage would be their salvation.

The clan’s patriarch would accept, and the mercenary band Goromaru would disband as the clan would officially be welcomed into the Hidden Leaf. Their warriors settled down alongside their own offspring to become properly designated Hidden Leaf shinobi, protecting their village with the same dedication and passion that they had once brought to the battlefield in their mercenary days. This was where the fight was now, after all. The former mercenaries raised their offspring with the same warrior's spirit as Katsu and his son once had, and their offspring too would do the same in the next generation. Many of the Goromaru in turn have become shinobi, fighting for their village and for the thrill of the fight that it brings. A direct descendent of Katsu The Second himself meanwhile, grew to be a renowned jonin by the name of Akio Goromaru. Akio was most known for making his keep in the Hidden Leaf Village during the Great Ninja War. Becoming patriarch of the Goromaru Clan, Akio would sire a son. And this son’s name was…

Rokuro Goromaru

A shinobi of the Hidden Village in the Leaves and the firstborn son of Akio and Cadiyan Goromaru. With his direct ancestor being the fabled mercenary Katsu The Second - the leader of the band that gave the Goromaru clan their reputation - Rokuro found himself with a great deal to live up to. Of course, this in of itself was a double-edged sword. His forebear’s shadow was cast over his father, and now Rokuro found it cast over him.

For better or for worse.

To some, Katsu The Second was a valiant warrior, a man with honor and a natural leader who protected the village time and time again. Others recognized and respected his work for them back in his mercenary days, and for the service that the Goromaro Clan provided for the Hidden Leaf in the time since. But others lost family and friends to the mercenary, freelancing ways of their battle lusting patriarch. To some he was a hero, to others, he was a villain who cared not whom he killed so long as someone was paying. For Rokuro to be his descendent, the deeds as well as the sins of one would many times reflect down upon the other. This included his own father as well, after his father had fought in the Great Ninja War — becoming hero to some in the shinobi world, killer to others. Whether Rokuro was descended from valiant warriors or savage brutes, it all depended on whom it is that you ask.

Growing up under the warrior's creed and mantras of the Goromaru family with all its history, for Rokuro, it was a heavy burden to bear. From some of the Hidden Leaf’s denizens, Rokuro would find kindness and companionship. But from those who had lost family in the past to Katsu, Rokuro oftentimes found himself subject to glares, dirty looks, and some even shunned the young man entirely. It was the same for his father, he had been told from an early age. And it would be the same for him. But despite the heavy toll this took on him, Rokuro still found interest in being a shinobi from an early age -- and for the rest of his life remained determined to see it through.

But that burden hung over him like a dark cloud, and it was one that Rokuro would eventually have to confront and figure out how to deal with it in his own way. Over time, Rokuro would find his answer. Pursuing the family trade, Rokuro decided he would push himself to both live up to Katsu's legacy, as well as that of his own father. But he wanted to prove to the Hidden Leaf Village's people, even those whose families had been wronged, that he was capable of forging his own legacy independent of that of his father and forebear. Rokuro was determined to be his own man. He wanted to be known for what he could do, not what his forebears had done. He had pride in them, and would honor them always... But Rokuro swore that forevermore, he would strive to become a shinobi of his own. One that all could be proud of. Most importantly, one that he himself could be proud of and live a life without regrets.

At first, Rokuro took to the path of the shinobi like a fish to water. It didn't take long for it to be clear that Rokuro had inherited his father's spirit and endless passion for battle, a characteristic shared with many legendary shinobi within the Goromaru Clan. His passion and enjoyment of the thrill that each fight brought made him a quick study. Each lesson was something new and exciting for Rokuro, and another means to experience the thrills that had become almost an addiction quite quickly. Rokuro's talents developed at an astounding speed, further amplified by his father's promise to fight him for real one day if he could reach a level worthy of matching him. The motivation aided Rokuro greatly... But the young shinobi in training would find that the path of a ninja was not easy by any means. And his journey was not without its share of roadblocks.

Genin

Rokuro’s first major hurdle came when shinobi from an unknown source infiltrated the Hidden Leaf Village with orders to dispatch the currently seated Hokage. As a Genin, Rokuro had insisted on joining his father’s squad who had spread out to find the Hokage's would-be assailants after they had been driven from the village. Having been separated from his father, Rokuro would find himself locked in mortal combat with one of the assailants. Still lacking in experience with only a handful of missions under his belt, Rokuro would find himself pushed to his limits. His enemy was fighting to kill, and while Rokuro found thrill in the fight, his intention was only to wound his foe enough to capture. Rokuro lacked a key aspect for any shinobi -- a killer instinct. No level of talent could eclipse the difference in experience and intent between the two, and Rokuro would find himself down with a sadism-fueled pair of kunai headed straight towards his eyes. Left with no choice, Rokuro was forced to draw a hidden kunai and stab his aggressor through the throat, killing him instantly. The experience shook up Rokuro greatly, and his training slowed to a crawl as the Genin found himself unable to escape the sight of the man lying in a pool of his own blood, his throat slit by Rokuro himself. For a time, it haunted his dreams. But eventually, Rokuro had to accept that this was a necessity in the shinobi world. His ancestors before him had learned to understand that the thrill of the fight could still be enjoyed even with the pain that oftentimes came with it. The lesson was not to dwell on those whom have fallen in battle. But to remember the fight they brought, and respect their memory as a warrior.

This was the way of the Goromaru Clan.

When Rokuro returned to his senses, he soon returned to his training. Akio would soon after present Rokuro with a family heirloom passed throughout the history of their clan – the Sword of Katsu. The chakra blade had once been wielded by Rokuro’s ancestor, the progenitor of the Goromaru Clan himself. In the eyes of Akio, Rokuro’s first kill was an experience that taught him the necessary horrors that battle could bring. And for that, he had become a true shinobi worthy of Katsu’s legacy.

As Rokuro grew older and more experienced, he continued to earn further renown not just within the Hidden Leaf, but within the Goromaru Clan as well. His boundless work ethic and burning desire to improve and break his limitations at every turn served him well in doing his family proud. This included his father. Seeing his son’s passion for battle and unwavering commitment to the Hidden Leaf brought a proud smile to the older Goromaru’s complexion at every turn, and in time, he saw fit to express interest in bringing his son with him on diplomatic operations within other shinobi villages. While the shinobi villages were at peace since signing the Pact Of Forgiveness to end the Great Shinobi War, tensions continued to remain high across the shinobi world. Despite his own love for battle that was customary of the Goromaru clan, Rokuro’s father Akio understood that if they wished to protect the Hidden Village Of The Leaf, and the Land Of Fire itself, one needed to value diplomacy and friendship just as much as they valued battle. The patriarch’s position was not formed from mere practicality either, however. There was a fundamental lesson that Akio wished to impart on his son. And that was: There is no grander fight than one fought at the side of a friend.

At first, Rokuro did not understand this lesson, nor even why they were wasting time attempting diplomacy with villages who at the drop of a hat could find reason to bring harm to their people at any moment. Having experienced what it meant to have to kill another man, and the pain that came with losing those you had fought alongside and cared for, Rokuro found himself distrustful of the other villages and their shinobi. But out of respect for his father and understanding the massive honor that it was for his father to wish for Rokuro to accompany him, he would accept the offer gladly. Moving from the Hidden Leaf to the Hidden Sand. The Hidden Mist to the Hidden Cloud. And even braving the Hidden Sound. Rokuro would experience for the first time a slew of different villages, cultures and ways of life. Surprisingly, despite his distrust of other villages and his pride as a Hidden Leaf shinobi, he eventually managed to make a few friends during his travels alongside his father. One unlikely pal in particular came from the Hidden Village In The Mist, a fishy friend named Kanjiro of the Hoshigaki Clan. Perhaps it was the fish puns on Rokuro’s end, but by the time he left the village that day, the duo got along swimmingly.

From that day onward, Rokuro was always eager to join his father in diplomatic operations. The truth of the matter was that the experience had given him an idea of who he wanted to be as a shinobi. He wanted to create a world where battle only needed to be for sport between friends. Devoid of the pain and suffering that it wrought.

Ryu

While Rokuro had made friends amongst others in the village, and from other villages as well, Akio felt that his son could use a bit of company during his training. So it was that one day, Akio would bring Rokuro an animal carrier. Akio claimed that this would not just be any pet for Rokuro, but a creature from a faraway land whom would serve as a lifelong companion for Rokuro in the journeys ahead. He had named this creature “Ryu”, after the ancient dragons whom had taken to the skies in eons before. When he showed him the animal he had tamed though, it... Wasn't exactly what Rokuro had been expecting.

"Ryu" turned out to be a rather dopey looking chicken that his father appeared to have named such as a joke. The chicken was, quite frankly, stupid beyond measure. While this chicken had quickly taken a liking to Rokuro and followed him around everywhere that he went, it quickly became evident that “Ryu” had survived its life so far on sheer dumb luck alone. No matter where Rokuro went, Ryu found itself with its head stuck in a very expensive piece of china, and was nearly cooked into a medium rare chicken roast after somehow wandering into the local meat restaurant as they passed and falling into the cooker. Rokuro found himself becoming paranoid from having to yank the scatterbrained bird out of the jaws of death at every turn. Despite his frustrations however, Rokuro decided to keep the chicken as his companion.

But one fateful day, the Goromaru household would be broken into with a great crash, and Rokuro would find something absconding with the dim-witted fowl. Trailing these dastardly birdnappers, Rokuro would find himself face to face with an army of very large, and very angry-looking chickens. These chickens were creatures known as the Kireutori, capable of speech and apparently held some form of combat ability. It turned out that while Ryu wasn't the smartest of their number, he was indeed one of them. However, Rokuro’s father had baited the dullest of their flock into captivity with a bag of pasta and rice, having heard of how long they could live compared to normal chickens. He had also heard tale that these Kireutori could become combatants, and that some had been tamed by members of the Goromaru Clan in times past. Of course, Akio had been unaware that the one captured had been part of a flock, nor that it had only come along because the fowl he had offered a bag of food happened to possess below average intelligence. None had expected that Ryu’s flock would come back for it.

However, one thing had surprised the flock. The fact that while Rokuro could have been happy to have the problematic bird out of his hair, he still insisted on coming after it. This was an unusual move to the flock, who had long thought the race of men to be mere warmongers who used their people for their own ends, without care for what happened to them. Rokuro’s decision to rescue Ryu despite its… Quirks, had in turn earned the begrudging respect of the flock. Watching as Ryu willingly returned to Rokuro, the flock decided to entrust Ryu to the young shinobi’s care. Claiming that Rokuro was now one of their flock, they would pledge to aid him were he to ever need it. Though at the time, Rokuro did not yet possess the skill needed to harness his chakra enough to perform a summoning without completely burning out his reserves. The Kireutori Flock would not be able to come to his side so easily until Rokuro could better control his chakra, but they decided to at least entrust Ryu with him regardless. Without going into detail however, they would leave Rokuro with a final message before departing: While Ryu wasn’t the smartest of their flock, he would be the strongest of their kind if his potential were to ever be brought out.

But Rokuro would indeed learn from this in the end: Never judge or be deceived by appearances. And never let your guard down. This pair of very important lessons would be learned when Ryu would follow Rokuro into the woods when the young Genin was taking a walk. They would find themselves ambushed by bandits. Thinking nothing of the addled-brained fowl, one unfortunate soul would punt Ryu in distaste.

This would prove to be the man’s undoing as a fiery breath reduced him to ash.

The Chunin Exams

After many missions with his team and his own father, Rokuro was given his family’s blessing and that of the Hidden Leaf’s higher-ups, to take the Chunin Exams. The first two exams were tough, but Rokuro was able to pass them with flying colors once he applied himself. Nobody suspected the large powerhouse to be decent at testing. Nor that what he had learned years ago when forced to kill a man, would give him the instincts needed to survive the second trial. While he most certainly did not kill anyone, Rokuro had been forced to harden his heart and do what had to be done when threatened. So it was that he would find himself in the tournament to decide the next set of Chunin.

This was where Rokuro’s flaws would bring his fall.

While Rokuro was extraordinarily talented and had grown into a powerful Genin with more than enough ability to move up – his lack of discipline would bring Rokuro to an incredibly close call in his final matchup. While he had managed to survive, he had enjoyed the fight too much, losing himself in the throes of combat and wasn’t focusing on the fact that this was a competition. His desire for a thrilling fight left him low on chakra, unnecessarily wasted when he should have been focusing on ending the fight sooner to preserve it. His lack of control over his chakra didn’t help, either. While he had good reserves, he used it far too excessively and as he was certainly not Jinchuriki, he couldn’t afford to use it so recklessly. These were the follies that led to his failure. The rationale behind his failure to pass was that if he had been in the middle of a mission, he would have left himself and his squad vulnerable. This failure devastated Rokuro, who had worked incredibly hard in preparation for the exams and had put everything into passing them. To find it wasn’t good enough because of a core flaw that he hadn’t been aware of going in, was a very bitter pill for Rokuro to swallow.

Once again, Rokuro had run into a seemingly insurmountable roadblock. But with counsel from his father, Rokuro was eventually able to begin working towards the next Chunin Exams. He needed to learn discipline, to be more patient and allow the tactical side of his mind to shine. To better restrain himself and control his chakra without losing himself in a fight. He needed to see where he went wrong, and figure out how to make it right.

It would be some time before he found it. But by the time of the next Chunin Exams…

Rokuro had trained harder than he ever had before, motivated by the goal of making up for his mistakes at the last Exams. Once again making it to the final rounds, Rokuro would demonstrate a far greater proficiency in the use of his chakra, being able to better reserve it, and fight without completely exhausting himself too soon. A name that had been an unexpected aid in this was the young Yuuto Hyuga. While Rokuro was bigger and stronger than the much younger Hyuga, Yuuto’s Gentle Fist targeted Rokuro’s biggest weakness. An offensive fighter, Rokuro would learn the hard way that the Gentle Fist forced one on the defensive, or else lose control of their chakra when their points were struck. Thanks to Yuuto, Rokuro had to learn to adapt and to better balance his style, in turn also learning to breathe, relax and approach situations more cautiously.

Then came the point that the whacky guy with the Rinnegan showed up and Ryuki did some stuff. While not part of all that was happening in all of this, Rokuro still had reserves left to act quickly and ensure that civilians were unharmed. Seems all that time keeping a dim-witted chicken from becoming dinner was starting to pay off. Having overcome his follies, Rokuro would be informed that he had passed, and would officially be made Chunin.

It wasn’t long after that his training to get here had paid off in another way as well. With his chakra under control, he was finally capable of summoning the Kireutori Flock. This included being able to summon Ryu, who perhaps one day might be a powerful ally with the right training.

While he had accomplished his goal, there were many steps that Rokuro had left to take in his path as a shinobi. His work wasn’t done until he had forged his legacy through creating the ninja world that he truly desired.

Roleplay Sample

It had all happened so fast.

Infiltrators in the Hidden Leaf. No one knew what land they hailed from, or if they even originated from another village at all. They could have very well been traitors from within the Hidden Leaf itself. Either way, intelligence about an attempt on the Hokage's life had been relayed across the Hidden Leaf, but while the attempt had been foiled, the assailants had escaped. Rokuro's father Akio had taken a squad after them, and Rokuro had insisted on coming along. Deep down, he knew he wasn't ready for this. But he had been training hard, and he wanted to make sure that these assailants didn't take another shot at the Hokage. Something his father understood and allowed.

But even knowing this was out of his depth, he had never expected it to end like this.

Separated from his father while chasing the would-be assassins outside of the village, Rokuro had managed to corner one only for them to attack. It didn't take long for Rokuro to find himself overwhelmed. The boy was inexperienced, for all his talent. But there was an aggression to this opponent that Rokuro had never seen in an opponent before. It became clear quickly enough that they were attempting to kill him.

Pinned down and with kunai headed for his eyes, Rokuro's deepest instincts kicked in as he brought a hidden kunai upwards into the man's throat.

There he was. Dead, in a pile of his own blood. Throat slit by Rokuro's hand. As he frantically scrambled to his feet and away from the body, the realization of what he had just done hit Rokuro like a ton of bricks. Rokuro found himself staring wide-eyed at the man's corpse, as his bloodied kunai slipped from his grasp.

That man was dead. That man was dead because of him. What if he had family? Friends? People waiting for him back home? Sure, he had tried to kill the Hokage, and then him, but...

The art of battle had been thrilling for him, but there was no thrill in this. Just... Cold, harsh death. Rokuro didn't know how long he had been standing there frozen, just staring aimlessly at his handiwork in fear. His body shook uncontrollably, and he felt numb, like the world had gone cold and still around him.

"Rokuro, what are you doing?!"

Rokuro's father Akio would leap down from the trees, having finally located his son. "Rokuro, we have to move. Why are you-"

His gaze moved towards the body. Then the bloodied kunai at Rokuro's feet. Then he understood.

"Ah."

Akio wrapped his arms around Rokuro's shoulders from behind, pulling him into an embrace as tears finally started to well up from the boy's complexion.

"I-I...."

"It's okay. Let it out."

"I've seen wounded before, but... He's..."

"I know. This is part of being a shinobi. But it's over, for now. They're gone. Let's go home."

"I... Okay."

Jutsu List

Summoning Jutsu - Used to summon creatures the user has signed a Summoning Contract with, this technique uses space-time ninjutsu to transport that creature or creatures to the user. Rokuro is capable of summoning the Kireutori Flock, a literal flock of large and lethal chickens able to utilize chakra. These chickens use the Fire nature, and will oftentimes cloak themselves in fire chakra before launching themselves at enemies. Sometimes though, Rokuro will summon just one of their kind to save chakra – Ryu, his personal companion. Ryu is dumb as rocks, but holds higher potential than the rest of its flock and is capable of breathing fire if motivated to use it. Currently imperfected on account of Ryu being unreliable and not yet having harnessed much of its latent ability.
Body Flicker Technique [D] - By using the Body Flicker Technique, a ninja can move short to long distances at an almost untraceable speed. To an observer, it appears as if the user has teleported. It is accomplished by using chakra to temporarily vitalise the body and move at extreme speeds. The amount of chakra required depends on the overall distance and elevation between the user and the intended destination.

Fire Style

Simmering Snap Jutsu [Custom] [D] - This technique allows the user to project chakra onto a flammable surface to set it on fire from a distance. This is done through snapping one's fingers, activating the jutsu and creating sparks over the affected surface. This fire once started has no special properties and can be put out like any regular fire, but does not require chakra to maintain.
Inferno Dowsing Technique [Custom] [D] - Allows the user to dispel fires that have been started by their own chakra, through channeling their chakra into the air. Even fires that have spread can be put out, so long as the chakra being concentrated is the one that it originated from.

Flame Bullet [C] - This technique is executed by the user gathering oil in their mouth which is created by chakra, spitting it out, and igniting it. This technique simply shoots a flame bullet at the enemy. If the amount of oil that is prepared is kept down, the time it takes to invoke the technique is reduced. This allows the enemy to be stricken unaware, allowing the oil-containing flame bullet to burn them up completely. It is also possible to shoot out a series of flame bullets by partitioning the oil, or a continuous flamethrower.
Dragon Flame Jutsu [C] - The user spits flames from their mouth that, like a dragon's, quickly travels forward in a straight direction. Upon contact with a target, the affected area is engulfed in flames. Whereas the Great Fireball Technique will burn everything in the vicinity, the Dragon Fire Technique is more narrowly focused at its initial target, likened to a projectile. Rokuro has devised a means to store the power of the Dragon Flame Jutsu in the palm of his hand, hiding it until he can unleash it at close range for better accuracy.
Phoenix Flower Jutsu [B] - The user unleashes a volley of shuriken with one hand, and at the same time, exhales fire-infused chakra onto them in order to increase the weapons' destructive potential by making them capable of inflicting severe burns upon direct contact with either the intended victim, or any other object caught within their trajectories. Due to the chakra-based nature of the flames that surround them, the shuriken will continue to burn after impact, regardless of the flammability of the object that they ultimately collide with.
Dragon Flame Bomb [B] - After kneading chakra, the user breathes fire from their mouth. The flames are manipulated into the shape of a dragon and divided to strike the target from the left, right, and front all at once. This Jutsu makes focused strikes, quickly reducing targets to ash upon contact. Alternately, the flames can coil around the target and form into a vortex, effectively keeping them trapped in place unless they can escape through the top.

Fierce Dragon Flame Jutsu [B] - The user compresses a large amount of chakra built up inside their body and changes it into a dragon head-shaped fireball. The user then skillfully manipulates that great fire, and attacks their opponent. Even outside of the attack range, its power and reliability are stressed. The flames have a high temperature, which can create an upward movement of air currents which in turn can give rise to thunder clouds. Rokuro will sometimes utilize the Lightning Style to then turn said thunder clouds on his opponents. A master of this technique can fire off several flames in succession.
Running Fire [B] - This technique creates a stream of fire that can be manipulated into several forms (so far, rings of fire that runs on the ground or a circle of fire flying through the air) before striking the target. It can also be used in combination with Wind Style: Divine Wind to create a tornado of flames, or with Wind Release: Divine Mountain Wind to release a massive inferno, the latter which is made even more powerful when used in an enclosed space created by Earth Release: Earth Corridor.
Essence Of The Dragon [Hiden] [B] - A variation of the Fire Style Cloak developed by Katsu The First. With the high affinity that the Goromaru Clan have for the chakra nature of fire, the Essence Of The Dragon shares the nearly endless possibilities of its forebear. But in the tried and true high risk and high reward style that Katsu and many of his descendants have exemplified across the ages, Katsu’s spin on the jutsu embodies just that. The Essence Of The Dragon creates a chakra construct on the back of the user that resembles the wings of an ancient dragon. It is said that Katsu saw this dragon many eons ago, and found himself in awe of its pure majesty and presence. This inspired him to model this chakra construct off its wings, both for practicality and to create a presence on the battlefield that would spread both awe and fear of the Goromaru Clan. Over time, Katsu would perfect the ability to not just construct the wings, but master using them in a way most wouldn’t think of. And that was to become so in tune with it that it moved and felt like it was part of the user’s body. While these wings cannot fly on their own, they are capable of being used to glide through the air which can save chakra compared to using jet flames to fly. Used in conjunction with other jutsu, the Goromaru Clan embodies the essence of these mystic creatures. The sight of these wings on the battlefield is a harbinger for destruction.
Essence Of The Dragon: Spiraling Wyvern [Custom] [B] - A nin-taijutsu technique that utilizes the fiery wings created with the Goromaru’s Essence Of The Dragon. The user spins through the air for momentum before tucking the wings together to center its gravity and send the user crashing into an opponent. The spin creates additional force, can be difficult for an opponent to counter once hit, and can be useful if utilized alongside a weapon.

Lightning Style

Lightning Sniper [Custom] [C] - The user infuses chakra into their finger, taking careful aim before launching a very small but incredibly fast and powerful bolt of lightning-infused chakra at a target. It can be a very effective weapon for those with good aim, and is best used when aiming for a weak spot or vital area. Can be fired multiple times in succession if enough chakra is used.

Lightning Strike [C] - The user creates an electric current that can hit multiple individuals at the same time. Furthermore, it can extend incredible distances and can avoid obstacles.
Elekiter [C] - The user concentrates lightning in their palm to electrify their opponent up close.
Lightning Rod [C] - After coming into physical contact with the opponent, the user raises their arm into the air, generating a powerful bolt of electricity which travels through their body transferring the electricity to the body of the opponent.

Wind Style

Gale Palm [C] - A Wind Release technique where the user either increases their velocity, or by the user clasping their hands together, wind is compressed and transformed into a powerful gale, which has enough force to knock over a person. When used in conjunction with shuriken or kunai, the tools become more lethal as their speed is increased.
Great Breakthrough [C] - The user breathes wind from their mouth, blowing away whatever is in front of them. The technique itself is quite simple, but its power varies significantly depending on the user's skill and how strong they make the winds.
Air Bullets [C] - This technique shoots multiple bullets of air at the victim with intense speed. The bullets also have great power, enough to subdue a whole group of shinobi.
Vacuum Sphere [B] - The user takes a deep breath and exhales several small blasts of wind chakra that scatters in different directions, making it very difficult for one to avoid without injury. Due to the properties of this technique, the expelled blasts are capable of piercing into and potentially through an opponent's flesh.
Vacuum Wave [B] - The user takes a deep breath and spins while exhaling, compressing the released air into a solitary blade of wind that covers a substantial area around the user, due to their circular motion. The resulting sharpened blast is large enough to slice through multiple targets located at a significant distance from the user

Hiden: Essence Of The Dragon

Description: A variation of the Fire Style Cloak developed by Katsu The First.

Strengths: Like the Flame Cloak, can utilize high speed movement and flame armor over the user’s chosen parts of body and clothes. User’s clothing is unharmed. Heat is extremely potent, resistant to fire. Can manipulate heat, shape and size of flames. This variation summons dragon-like wings that can be used to glide. In conjunction with using flames as thrusters can simulate flight. Wings operate and feel like they are part of the body, giving the user incredible control while in the air.

Drawbacks/Weaknesses: The added element of gliding makes this technique unique amongst most techniques and jutsu. This makes it a serious adjustment both in learning and in use, which can be disorienting when one isn’t used to it. If the wings are damaged, the user feels it as if it were a real limb. As with the Flame Cloak, it is weak to strong enough water jutsu and sustained use on all parts of the body at once, or increased flame temperatures beyond recommended heat can quickly drain chakra reserves. The addition of gliding wings adds further strain. The user needs to learn to manage what parts of the body are ignited at a time in order to best preserve their chakra. If chakra runs out while gliding, you’re going to have a nice fall.

Difficulty To Learn/Master: Requires Fire chakra nature to use. An incredible aptitude with Fire Style Jutsu is a must to learn and master the Essence Of The Dragon. Gliding can be difficult to adjust to. While a member of the Goromaru Clan can learn this naturally, an outside expert in Fire Style will need to be personally tutored by a member of the clan proficient in the technique in order to use it. One has to master exercising extreme caution and awareness in order to master this jutsu, as the extreme heat it emanates can be catastrophic if not used responsibly.

Clan Backstory/Description: The Goromaru Clan have existed - and fought - for many generations, with their great forebear Katsu Goromaru being heralded as a great warrior who loved every second on the field of battle.
