Profile
Background
Fontaine is an eccentric young merman with a strong fascination towards anything related to humans. In particular he is interested in human culture, something he thinks he is quite knowledgeable on. Unfortunately, he is unable to so much as understand human language so any knowledge he has comes from watching from a distance and from tall tales told by other passing merfolk, which are often inaccurate at best.
As a result of his obsession he has a habit of collecting trinkets he finds in the ocean, his prized possession being the naval officers coat he wears whenever he can.
Within his group Fontaine is something of a barely tolerated presence, most of the adults in the group are sick of hearing him lecture them at length about humanity. He is however quite popular with the children, who enjoy his stories (Inaccuracies and all) and as such he's fallen into a sort of unofficial childminder role.
Personality
Fontaine has an obnoxiously cheerful personality and is always full of energy. When discussing something he's interested in he has a habit of rambling on, oblivious to the fact that everyone around him has long ago lost interest. He has a flair for the dramatic at times, over-exaggerating in response to even minor cuts and scrapes.
