Réne is a half-Japanese girl living in Parajuku. Her mother is Japanese and her father is French. She is a famous user in ParaLette, an art sharing website where users submit art to the gallery (basically the PriPara version of a certain website that starts with "d", also fortunately more tame in this version). She is online mutuals with Ajimi Kiki and teaches her how to do digital art weekly. Réne prefers digital art over traditional art.

"Réne" is an altered version of "René", with different é accent position. "René" is a unisex (primarily male, but sometimes given to females) name which means "reborn" in French.

亜 ("A") is Japanese for "ranking next" or "coming after", and is the Japanese version of the sub- prefix. The kanji is also used as a phonetic element for kanji transliterations like "Asia" (亜細亜).

殿 ("dono") means "palace", "noble" or "hall" in Japanese. It is also used as a honorific suffix that is more formal than "-san" (さん) but not as much as "-sama" (様).

If one reads Réne's full name in Japanese name format (where the family name comes first before the given/first name), "Adono Reene", it resembles "Adeleine", which is actually a name of a character from Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. Réne's design is also based on Adeleine.
