ABOUT
Introduction
Salten is a Saltwater Crocodile from the Hidden City and a former champion of the Battle Nexus. He eventually escapes with his best friend Tawny, and after being found by some strange turtles and being heavily interrogated, he and Tawny finally get to begin their new lives in a strange world with their equally strange new friends by their side.

TRIVIA
- Becomes very lethargic during the colder months. This can result in him sleeping for multiple days at a time.
- Has low empathy and struggles with social queues, resulting in many awkward conversations and misunderstandings [shoots my autism beam at him]
- Wakes up early every morning to watch the sunrise if he's able to. He had never seen it until he escaped the Nexus.
- Shows affection through physical touch and acts of service.
- Lost his left pinkie and left foot up to the ankle. Didn't get a prosthetic until he met Donatello.
DESIGN NOTES
- Most noteable scars: Gash on snout, blast scar in the center of his back, massive scarring on left leg, chunk bitten out of tail.
- Prosthetic foot is Donnie's tech. He usually only wears it on missions or when he's working, as he prefers to use his crutches more often than not.
- Prefers to wear loose clothing, but as he grows it gets a bit more difficult to find things that fit him like that.
- Prosthetic is originally purple, but he later paints it so it blends in with his colouring a bit more.
PERSONALITY
Salten is headstrong and hasty, punching first and asking questions later. He is very adaptable in dangerous situations, picking up on an opponent's weaknesses quickly. However, due to Salten's poor communication skills with anybody other than his closest friend Tawny, he can frequently get himself into troublesome situations whilst leaving his other friends clueless as to what happened or how to help him.
Salten has a creative side to him, using things like finger painting, gardening, and knitting as an outlet for his emotions. These things were introduced to him by Mikey, who has also attempted (and failed) to teach him about pop culture and new trends.
BACKSTORY

Salten was born in the depths of the Hidden City and separated from his birth mother at a young age. Somehow, he eventually found his way into Big Mama's arms as she took over the role of his caretaker for the next few years, raising him like her own. Once Salten was old enough, however, she threw him into the Battle Nexus to fight for her, his rank quickly rising as he soon became her Champion.
A few years into being Champion, a new fighter enters the ring. Said fighter is coincidentally put in the cell across from Salten's, and an unlikely friendship is born. She introduces herself as Tawny, and over time she teaches Salten sign language so they can communicate discreetly. Tawny tells Salten about the outside world and what it saw before it was trapped in here along with him, and this eventually leads to him and Tawny forming an escape plan.

Salten and Tawny manage to successfully escape and wind up in the streets of New York, a huge (and very unknown) world for both of them. They move from place to place, living off of scraps and whatever else they can find. Well, that is until they try to steal a delicious-smelling box from four Turtles.
After a comedic chase scene and a heated argument, the two eventually find themselves in the Turtle's home, hesitantly explaining some of the details of their situation to their hosts. After a lot of bickering between the four mutants, they finally decide to let Salten and Tawny stay with them while they get back on their feet. Shenanigans ensue.
future
A few years later when Salten has become an adult, he finds a small human child who has been abandoned. Practically on instinct he brings them home, much to Tawny and the rest of his friend's surprise. He originally tries to find a proper home for them, but after many unsuccessful attempts he decides to take them in. He almost named them something stupid like Book, but after a lot of arguing they finally settled on the name Parker.
Tawny and Salten co-parent Parker, and for the first seven years they raised her in the sewers until finally deciding that maybe it probably isn't the best place for a human child. It did make their immune system quite strong, though.
RELATIONSHIPS
Tawny is Salten's best friend. They met in the Battle Nexus, and Salten feels like Tawny is the only one who he can safely confide in. He slowly opens up to others over time, but Tawny will always be his #1.
Salten used to have very bad separation anxiety and would get quite stressed if he wasn't near Tawny, however, over time his anxiety begins to lessen.
Salten's favorite turtles go as follows: Raph, Donnie, Mikey, Leo. In the beginning Salten has a very difficult time trusting anyone other than Tawny, worried he'll be backstabbed or betrayed at any moment.
Thankfully, though, his bond slowly grows with each of them over time, each one helping him in their own way. Raph is gentle and patient with him (as well as a very fun sparring partner), Donnie awakens his curiousity as well as teaching him how to write and read at a higher level, Mikey shows him how to be creative and think outside of the box, and Leo helps him open up and gain the ability to speak his mind.When Salten was young, his mother took a risk and stole from Big Mama, but unfortunately was caught quite quickly. She put up one hell of a fight but was quickly arrested, Salten and the rest of his siblings unfortunately having to watch it all happen. Instead of being left to fend for themselves, however, Big Mama took interest in them, wondering if they would grow up to be just as strong as their mother.
Big Mama took them all in, and they all lived what they thought was a normal childhood, not knowing what was coming next. The second they were all old enough to fend for themselves, she threw them into her Battle Nexus without hesitation. Salten was the only survivor. He manages to escape years later with Tawny, never returning to the Hidden City in fear of her finding them once again. His biological mother's whereabouts are unknown, and for many years he does not know whether she is dead or alive.
Salten's first encounter with Baron wasn't one of the most pleasant experiences. It was right after he escaped the Battle Nexus with Tawny, the two of them chained together with enchanted shackles. Baron was the only one who was able to help, and with Salten and Tawny still very on edge the removal process was anything but pleasent, Salten nearly biting off his hand. He eventually forces himself to tolerate Baron at Mikey's request, but whenever the orange-clad turtle is gone they argue and fight almost immediately, someone most often having to break up the fight and separate them.
After a few years their hatred for each other mellows out, and they become surprisingly close once Parker is in the picture, Baron nearly becoming an Uncle like figure to her. Whenever somebody points out Salten and Draxum getting along, however, they immediately deny it.
