Jonathan Bio Outline

• Whateley Blood is from his mother's side
• Great-grandmother was a renegade Whateley from Missouri that found love and settled down in Maine. She kept the secret of her heritage from her children and grandchildren.
• Due to the dilution of the Whateley Blood many of those that carry it in the family have little to no birth defects. But black hair and green eyes are still a common trait.
• Jonathan was born in Maine to his mother and father in 1851
• His parents, especially his father who worked in a publishing house, encouraged reading and academia in Jonathan from a young age.
• Jonathan was a curious child and ravenous reader, especially as he got older. He spent many hours not doing schoolwork reading or browsing the local library. Which fostered an interest in the strange when he began reading fairytales and mythologies.
• When he decided to go to college for journalism in his late teens/early 20s, he became fascinated with the writings of The Lesser Key of Solomon.
• Having grown up Christian, he was at first hesitant to dig deeper into the Ars Goetia. But eventually he found a time to try summoning according to the book. It didn't work as intended.
• Instead he felt something like a stirring in his blood. Like he could do anything with enough will. He imagined a ball of flame in his outstretched hand and in a moment conjured a green flame in palm.
• The sensation of doing actual spellcraft was amazing. It excited him more than a good book.
• He was obviously quiet about his discovery, practicing alone when he could and growing his knowledge from old papers on demonology into proper occultism.
• Jonathan after graduating at the age of 24 with a degree in journalism, got a job at the Calais Library in Calais, Maine. He was comfortable there for a couple years til he grew oddly restless, feeling that he could do more with his abilities and there was more he could learn not cooped up in a library. (As much as he enjoyed the job.)
• He leaves his job in good standing, packing and heading west to learn more of the occult.
• Jonathan keeps paying rent for his home back in Maine, using it mostly as storage for his book collection cause he's just an "extended vacation". He comes back every few months or whenever he has free time.
