Lilac is a Drow Rune Knight Fighter/Armorer Artificer who grew up orphaned in the opulent city of Whitestone, learning to fend for herself. She eventually joined the international Adventurer's Guild with who became her party, picking up odd jobs and learning to fight. Some time into her membership she underwent a naval mission where she lost the pinky and ring finger of her left hand to a stray cannonball in a pirate attack. She has since replaced these with prosthetics, but the event instilled a debilitating fear of the ocean and explosive sounds.

Aside from the guild, Lilac works professionally as an armorer, and has made the equipment for much of her party herself. Despite only needing to sleep for four hours a night, she still manages to pull all-nighters working on pieces, and runs on coffee most workdays. She and her adopted brother Ares rent a small apartment in the city, along with a rescued black cat named Goose.

Lilac is outgoing, broadly good-natured, and altruistic. She often puts others before herself, and cares deeply about the other members of her team. She is a confident talker and can tell a bold-faced lie without twitching, and as such usually acts as the face of her party. Lilac is trained in fighting with twin shortswords, and is also proficient with a pistol, though she prefers not to use it. Her upbringing nurtured skills associated with thievery. Lilac has PTSD from the pirate attack, and when triggered she tends to freeze up or flee, though she is getting better at managing her panic and not letting it control her. She carries a set of tinkered earplugs that emanate white noise.

Early Life

Lilac was dropped off at an orphanage in the opulent city of Whitestone as an infant, left with only a necklace on a leather cord and a few lilac flowers, with no clues as to who her parents were or where they had gone. She grew up under strict supervision from orphanage's caretakers, facing suspicion and exclusion due to her ancestry. When she was around four years old, she met Ares, a half-minotaur half-devil, who faced a similar exclusion due to his infernal heritage, and the two became friends. They became inseparable, getting up to all sorts of mischief which only served to further inflame their mistreatment. When it became too much to bear, Lilac and Ares hatched an elaborate escape plan, fleeing into the Third Ring under cover of night. There they constructed a fort in-between two pipes by the outer wall, and began to survive off of their wit and cunning alone for several years.

When she was 10, she had her necklace stolen, and was left with only a note that left a meeting place and an objective to perform a series of small heists across the city to get her item back. At the meeting point was no writer of the note, but instead a number of other Whitestone children who had also had their belongings taken, and the group teamed up to steal for the mysterious thief. While waiting for the right conditions, they also joined the city's branch of the international Adventurer's Guild, which granted them room and board in trade for doing odd jobs for the city as guild missions. To help pay for equipment, Lilac took an apprenticeship under the smith Alita Maelforge at an armory known as the Battle Angel, developing skills in leatherworking. Preparing for one of the heists, Lilac weaselled her way into the staff of Kenway Manor, an estate owned by one Lady Ellenor Kenway, an ex-pirate. After weeks of prep, she and her party members Morning Star and Sauriv began the heist, but were caught by Kenway. Only wanting her necklace back and promising to look into the mysterious thief, Kenway allowed them to take what they had been assigned to steal, and became Lilac's combat mentor. The party secured the rest of the items and returned to the meeting place, where a hidden dungeon beneath the city's canals opened up. The party made it through to the other side, still never seeing their questgiver, and had their items returned to them at the end, now changed with new enchantments.

C-Rank Adventurer

The party continued working for the Adventurer's Guild together on a number of assignments. On these jobs, Lilac continued to hone her skills as a fighter, and adopted a rat named Clyde. She eventually underwent a mission on the ship The Magpie at the behest of Kenway where she lost the pinky and ring finger of her left hand in a pirate attack, shot off by a stray cannonball. She landed in the ocean, unconcious, and was narrowly kept alive by Sauriv until they washed up on the beach of a nearby island with Lady Kenway, having lost nearly all of their items to the sea. They fought through the ruins of an old temple, activating a beacon that alerted the rest of Kenway's crew to their position, and dragged their way back home in the damaged ship.

After this, Lilac became a shell of her former self for several years, refusing to train with Kenway or go on any further adventures, and committing herself almost entirely to her developing work as an armorer. She developed a debilitating fear of boats and of loud noises, tending to freeze up or flee when triggered. Kenway gifted her a set of handcrafted ceramic prosthetics for her hand, enchanted to work like her normal fingers. Though she didn't return to train again, Lilac kept her promise, dedicating time to trying to find the party's mysterious benefactor, though to no avail. Lilac learned smithing on top of leatherworking and eventually became a business partner to Alita, selling her own armor and weapons through the store. Gradually, as she grew more comfortable, Lilac rejoined the party on Adventurer's Guild missions, and she and Ares eventually saved up enough to buy their own apartment in the inner Third Ring, and Lilac adopts a black cat named Goose. When she has extra money left over from missions and works, Lilac donates her coin and her time to helping programs that feed and house the poor in the Third Ring.
