Kazuo Matsuzaki

To some, there exists deep underlying principals to the universe- good and evil, righteousness and villainy- and then there are those who exist only for coin. Kazuo Matsuzaki is one of those people. A Kitsune hailing from the Oni Kingdom of Chu Ye in Tian Xia, Kazuo was a slave for years, before slowly he managed to tap into the powers of the Astral Plain and unlock his true power- that of the Mesmerist. After hypnotizing his captors into allowing him- and him alone- freedom, Kazuo finally tasted freedom and power, and quickly became addicted to it. It took him very little time to realize that the best way to get power was to have money, and the best way to have money is to make yourself indispensible to others. He took his chance to travel to Avistan, knowing full well people would easily be impressed by his exotic nature to them (especially after spending a brief time in Amanadar and interacting with the westerners there who found him particularly enrapturing). Now, he travels Avistan, procuring addictive substances to hook people on and make dependent on him while simultaneously making them easier to manipulate. He does not care about the concepts of good and evil- he'll co-operate with a demon lord's armies one minute and immediately sabotage their plans the next if it meant he'd be able to get a better business deal from the empyreal forces fighting them. To some, this may seem immoral- to Kazuo, it's just business, baby.
