fire magnolia's beloved/behated producer, started with the band in 1968 

before being picked up by fire magnolia, clementine had dreams of becoming a musician, but quickly realized that wouldn't work out for him. quickly got into college and earned a degree in audio technology and became a producer. throughout the time he's in college, and in 68-69, he's very depressed and a drug addict + alcoholic. a mix between his inability to achieve his dreams, and rising questions about his own sexuality, leads to this. 

with fire magnolia he's very stern with his ideas in 1968, but after that album comes out, he realizes that the band will just step all over him. he's an extremely self-conscious man with a soft voice who almost never raises his voice. 

in the later end of 1969, after the band's manager gets drafted in the vietnam war, he falls even deeper into drug and alcohol addictions. gets busted for owning drugs sometime in early 1970 and spends a month in prison, and when he gets back, he almost instantly moves to france and spends over a year there being a recluse and living completely alone. in late 1971-early 1972 he moves back to england and gets rehired by fire magnolia. also works on recovering from all of the shit he did over the years. 

he looks healthier and acts better by the time their manager returns in 1973, although he's still recovering from side effects of living the way he used to

a very valuable producer, due to his own knowledge of playing music and growing closer with the band + knowing what they want in their music. he's extremely self conscious about everything he does with the music though especially after his first time working with the band. 

VERY much a fashionista... if he can't take care of his looks body-wise he'll take care of them clothes-wise. often spends a good portion of his paycheck just on clothing.

character relations

ray (the band's manager) and him end up becoming closer in 1969, having a shared passion for becoming musicians that they both didn't get to achieve. they end up falling in love and sometime after he returns from vietnam they get together. awaiting more details but they eventually leave fire magnolia sometime in the mid-late 70s and start their own solo project together, based heavily on clem's love of blues rock and ray's love of country rock.
