Drury Abendroth is an aristocrat enamoured with the Romantic and the Gothic. Anything strange or whimsical delights him. His head is often drifting in the clouds or buried in the pages of the latest penny dreadful. He cannot bear to be perceived as ordinary; he is obsessed with the extroadinary, the spiritual, the mythical, and the grotesque. He is very patient, rarely spurred to anger save in cases of jealousy. He does not hide his emotions, being frequently moved to tears by art. And whatever moves him, or entices him, he has to have. Drury is often obsessive in his acquisition of beautiful and strange things.

He is a collector of fine art, but not just any art. Drury collects non-human beings.
