Profile

Character Info

A former meteorologist who has become an avatar of the Egyptian god Shu, god of the air and supporter of the sky. Her suit, when summoned, resembles that of a gymnastics leotard, along with wrappings on her legs and golden accesories scattered around her body. The colors range from teal to mint green, with accents of gold, as well. Along with her suit, she has feathered wings that allow her to fly and glide through the air, her suit helping her be fast and flexible in the process. The feathers range from dark brown to beige, usually a gradient or striped. The design on her suit is a mix of swirls and star/flash-like shaps, symbolizing her connection with the sky and her patron god.  Along with her golden, sharp claws she gains in her suit, she can also summon a javelin spear, golden and adorned with heiroglyphs that tell of her servitude to Shu.

Ariel had stumbled into her role as an avatar on accident when she was 30, and it was out of survival. She had traveled to Greenland to do solo research in the arctic regions (for reasons yet to be developed), and had discovered Shu in a cave of ice. She was lead there by the northen lights he was emitting as a signal for help, but by the time she found him, she was cold and weak and was too far from her post to return safely. In an attempt to save her and himself, he offers his patronage in exchange for her servitude as his avatar, and she agrees out of desperation. Ariel felt obligated to continue serving him, as her way of showing thanks for being saved, even after being offered freedom from the deal after they had both recovered.

Ariel has vitiligo (non-segmental and generalized) that start appearing in her early teens, some time after a terrible, destructive storm (the specifics are not determined yet) left her without a mother and having the rebuild her life with her father. This leads to her long-term interest in meteorology and climatology.
