Caesura Gropius l late 30s/early 40s l male 

- A mysterious man who is credited as the inventor of the Pokeball. His invention was to be used purely for research but Laventon (his research partner) allowed it to be used by the Galaxy corp for the capture of wild Pokémon.

Furious with his partner’s actions he splits away from the group, continuing his research as a solo individual. He often aids the diamond and pearl clan with Pokémon based requests as he is able to understand the creatures on a level most cannot.

He adopts his late sister's daughter, Cadence, after an avalanche claims her parents lives and nearly his own, too. He enters into a contract with his Dusknoir, resulting in the loss of his eye. Stricken with grief the man begins to hatch a plan to rewind time by using the almighty powers of Sinnoh.
