Darcy is the only child of Josephine and Charlisle Foster, a noble Ul'dahn trader family. She was a precocious child— having a particular love of history and philosophy. Being able to explore whatever hobbies she wished, Darcy took up fencing as an extracurricular sport. As she got older, she was able to hone the skill to an expert level. Her unusually quick reflexes were an early manifestation of The Echo.
Her father, Charlisle, passed away from a long-term illness just after she reached adulthood. With her mother still grieving, Darcy took on the family business herself. Though she was fiercely independent and had been since she was a child, there was still an immense amount of pressure from her family to marry someone capable. This was something Darcy routinely brushed off, knowing full well she could handle herself just fine. Despite her competence, there was a part of her that longed for adventure and freedom.
Now that she was the leader of her family's business, she saw just how much corruption had taken root not only in her father, but among all of his backers as well. Darcy wanted more out of life than just to get richer; she decided she would transform the trading company into a non-profit organization set to help the Ala Mhigan refugees that were beginning to pile up outside Ul'dah's gates. Once everything had been set up, she would finally step down to follow through on her dream of adventuring.
It took almost a decade of work, but she managed to create something that would be able to sustain itself. Her charity had been established, and when the time came she gave up her position to pursue traveling. With her selfless nature, quick thinking, and skilled swordplay, she became renowned for her ability to help those in need. This lead her to meeting the practicioner of red magic, X'rhun Tia.

Darcy has a charming wit is very good with people. She loves to make people feel comfortable in her presence, but isn't afraid to speak up for herself when necessary. Her staunch commitment to being independent has turned some away, but Darcy is not bothered by it.
She is immensely stubborn and often will get in trouble for meddling in other people's affairs, even if it's with good intentions. Still, she is mostly known for her fearlessness in the face of conflict and her pure-hearted desire to help those around her.
In her free time, she loves to read and write. Darcy is always willing to try anything once. Her style is very elegant and put-together.

The two were a fearsome duo once X'rhun had taught her the balancing act of red magic. X'rhun was quicly enamored with Darcy's charm and wit, and the two eventually fell in love. X'ruhn is preparing to propose after the events of Endwalker.
Darcy and Y'shtola both have a love for magic, a good book, and a nice hot cup of tea. They frequently get together to gossip.
