Mortikai is the Champion of Dark Brink, meaning that he has control over it's force of proxies and can bend them to his will. This also means that he's the most powerful of it's proxies, having been granted immortality and four different feline forms to shift into. However, these came at a price - whenever Dark Brink no longer has a use for him at the current moment in time, he allows Mortikai to be killed (as his immortality only grants him protection against ageing and illness). As a Champion, this allows Mortikai's body to be taken by the White Stag and is revived somewhere beyond Dark Brink's reach, and is allowed to live out the next ten years of his life as a normal human being. After these ten years, Dark Brink can find him and possess him, which erases next to all memories of his ten year break.
Mortikai was born in the late 1800s to Maximilian and Delilah Ondor. He was the oldest brother of two, his younger brother Fletcher Eridian Ondor being born five years later.
Maximilian was the ringleader and producer of a local circus in London, dubbed The W-Ondor-ful Circus. He was an abusive father and boss, many of the animals and performers being mistreated. Mortikai was the only one to stand up against him, and his hatred lead to his creating a deal with Dark Brink. After many years of service, Dark Brink chose him as his Champion, but soon after he was killed. After this ten year break, he found his father dead amongst a local gang, all which seemed to have been slain by his own hand. Without any guilt in his conscience, Mortikai took up the leading role in his family's circus until they had to shut down due to audiences growing smaller and smaller.
His later life was much of a blur, a mismatched swirl of wars, death, and things that would keep you up at night.
At some point, he had visited his brother at his work in America, working for Walter Robotics and caring for the automatons he had designed. He had stayed with him for a while, after which both he and his brother disappeared for some time.
More recently, Mortikai had been killed by Iraine, the Reindeer King of the Sanctuary, after an attack on the White Stag's place had gone horribly wrong. After his revival, he met Emilia Felin and built a life with her for ten years, after which he had it stripped away from him by Dark Brink. But this time it was different, and he could still remember parts of his past with her. Currently, he has been made aware of his family's whereabouts, and wishes to reconnect with them, but Dark Brink's ruling will make that very hard, especially as his and the dark spirit's blood run in the child he and Emilia had.
Mortikai is currently part of two universes - the Shacklestone universe (created by RadiantRaindragon) and the Sanctuary universe. In these universes, not much changes, except for the fact that the White Stag is not as prevalent in Shacklestone and there was a different reason for his death before he met Emilia. He also has different ties to the family in each universe. In the Sanctuary universe, Toby (the dog shifter adopted by Emilia) is used by Mortikai and Dark Brink to monitor his family. In the Shacklestone universe, the only knowledge Mortikai had of his family where stray memories and his finding of them in the ruined hospital and allowing them to escape the wrath of a murder-filled dragon shifter.
