About
Prof. Lorelei is an animal handler/caretaker at Black Mesa Research Facility- or, well, she had been working as one for a week until the resonance cascade happened. After that, she was just another soul fighting for her life in the facility- she just had some help from her beloved xen critters.
Her associated font is Constantia and color is Carmine Pink (#E84C46, the color seen used in this code!)
Personality
Lo-lo is a very kind and soft person, albeit somewhat skittish. She's often the voice of over-reason: for example, if it's raining, she'll insist on you taking an umbrella and coat "otherwise you might catch a cold and get real sick!" She's somewhat of a less-quiet fluttershy.
Design notes
Her orange eye is a robotic prosthetic, and should be drawn with weird shading (if your style of drawing eyes includes shading). This can be an inverted gradient compared to her real eye, a square highlight instead of an oval one, whatever!

Backstory
She was hired at black mesa to help deal with captive xen creatures, and started the week before the rescas. Her job was to feed the xen creatures, clean up after them, document behaviors, and generally just keep the creatures alive and healthy. She had no clue what she was getting into when she first signed the NDA, but she fell in love with the odd creatures the moment she laid eyes on them! If the rescas hadn't happened she could've definitely seen herself working at black mesa for years.
Trivia
- Her brown eye is actually a prosthetic! She lost her eye a few years back when a rat attacked her and it got infected, and she has a fear of walking rodents because of it (Rats, mice, squirrels, etc- not bats). She used to have a prosthetic eye that matched her natural eye color, but because she had only one eye she had pretty bad depth perception- so black mesa offered her a working robotic eye to replace the one she lost, in return for her working at black mesa for at least a year. She took the job, though they only had an orange eye prosthetic in stock (cuz, surprise surprise, they didnt have any demand for replacement robotic eyes) but she's greatful nonetheless. The eye has nightvision she can toggle on and off, as well as being able to zoom in a little bit! It's kinda sensitive to light though, which is why she has it half-covered by her hair most of the time.
- She has somewhat of an anonymous singing career, going under the username SillySnapdragon (and the online name Silly). She doesn't tell anyone it's her behind the music, as she sometimes makes songs about topics shes, er, not associated with in her normal life- stuff like sex, drugs, etc.
- The goggles she wears are mostly for aesthetics, but they do help protect her against bullsquid acid and stuff of the sort.
